OU looked a little dinged after a few plays last week, but they have a nasty habit of healing. I just hope DT can improvise along with GG. Oh, and if OU's speedy defense can overpersue, that would be great too!!!
I wish OU had a nasty habit of healing. This is the worst year ever for OU injuries.
Sam Bradford is out for the season.
Jermain Gresham was injured in a non-contact injury the week before the season started......out for the year.
Brian Simmons, one of the better and more experienced guards, is out for the season.....I think.
Demarcus Granger was supposed to be Gerald McCoy's counterpart. He had back surgery, and still isn't up to speed. He's applying for a medical redshirt.
We lost our best receiver, Ryan Broyles, to a shoulder blade break, but he did recover quick, and he's back.
OUr best running back, Demarco Murray, was out last week, and I think he'll still be out this Saturday.
OU's recent biggest flaw seems to have been taken care of.......unless you are able to exploit it with timing. OUr middle linebacker, Ryan Reynolds, is slow. He doesn't cover guys in the middle of the field very well. OU has been burned over and over in the middle of the field. A couple of weeks ago Venables finally realized it and started taking Reynolds out of the game on obvious passing downs. They started using a nickel package, and it has worked well. So the answer is to throw to the middle of the field when Reynolds is in the game and run when he's out.
