So, somehow, because you logged onto a message board, and read a quote that another guy wrote about Wefald, Wefald is "in your face?"  I'll go along with that.  I wish Hemmingway would get off my nuts.

Donors need to keep that route in business.  IMHO, donate to the American Eagle.

I was thinking along those lines as well.  Do you think there could be an NCAA violation in there somewhere?

It's probably not likely that there's enough business on that route to make a profit (I'm willing to be wrong though).  If that's the case it seems that someone would have to subsidize the flights.  Would they be subsidizing for the sole purpose of KSU recruiting?

Lots of airlines are in the business of opening new routes to support certain university athletics even if they lose money.

When the biolab breaks ground; there will be a lot of folks using these flights.  All the contractors, inspectors, and government officials that will be part of the process will need quick access.  Plus, once the lab is online; it most likely will be in the governments interests to have the fastest possible means to get to-from the facility.

Dang. I didn't realize they had to fly into KC. That does suck. Is that the only commercial flight out of Manhattan? Kind of sounds like it.

Snyder's right to be wary though--more people than just the football team will have to use it for it to remain viable. But for a research university, I can see that being very helpful to have on a number of fronts.

according to the mercury about a week ago, the dfw flights are doing better than expected- having fort riley next door doesnt hurt and the lab should help also- and free parking!

 :AA:

free parking and no gas almost makes up for the additional $ to fly out of MHK.

if flying alone it's a no brainer.

i went from manhattan to florida last week and it was two hundred bucks roundtrip. the flight out was overbooked (not everybody got on) and the flight back was above 90% capacity. i really don't think we're going to have any problems at all keeping the route. it's here for at least two years guaranteed and i don't see it going away after that.

95% capacity on my flight too.  american eagle is looking like a genius on this one.

flew out of MHK on a 7:30 AM Sunday morning flight and it was overbooked.  $343 roundtrip to Reagan in DC.  Flight back on Wednesday was full.  AA is looking at direct flight to Chicago next.  This has been a homerun.

If I had gone to MCI...2 hours drive time leaving at 0 dark thirty to get the cheap morning flight.  $25 burnt in gas and $8/day for parking...no contest.  AA in MHK wins everytime.  Just checked on flight to Orlando in February for a little golf action.  $395 roundtrip

But beware the checked baggage fee! :curse:

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

its in the works...AA found a home run with Manhattan.  If you lived in Salina, what would be cheaper?  Wichita? KC? or MHK with direct flight to Dallas and free parking?  Folks from Topeka are also using Manhattan now.  MCI is  :ohno:

ksu alone will use the hell out of this, fort riley, NBAF, topeka.  If NBAF ends up here, manhattan will bust at the seams- HUGE
