every year Snyder likes to really make a statement against a B12 opponent and embarass the hell out of the team we're playing that week.  i call it Synder's annual "statement game".

05 MU
04 Nubb
03 ISU
02 64-0

I'm thinking this week is that week.  You know, the week when we let out all the stops and really open up the offensive playbook, just to let stoops and venzies who is the boss.  we are and so is snyder.

why not just take the sooners down to the old woodshed and whoop up on them?  seriously, this sooner team sucks and there's no reason we don't tally up another notch in the win column.

A&M was our statement game this year  :dunno: :dunno:

A&M was definitely a statement game, too.  But that statement was revenge.  Revenge isn't Snyder's normal statement.  You should know by now that he is a pretty good guy.

As for whether or not OU will be Snyder's SG, I haven't a clue.  I've got a buddy who works at a sports book in Vegas.  No help.  The word is that Snyder is very tight lipped about the SG this year.  Did you see him karate chop the podium in his presser.  That's somehow related.  He has a whole new demeanor.  There are rumors that a karate chop would precede the SG.  I don't know what to believe.

I had not heard that the karate chop at presser would precede this season's SG.  well i guess that changes things a bit because when i first started this thread i was only 85% sure that this week is the SG but if what you say is true, and I have no reason to believe that it isn't, then my guess is that this week is 100% the SG.

the only thing that makes me wonder if it might not be this season's SG is because the rumor may have made it's way back to LSnyder and with the proverbial cat out of the bag, perhaps LSnyder might be trying to send mixed signals through the media and confuse everyone so that no one is exactly sure when the SG is.

    DOD Take Two
Makes sense to open up the playbook and go crazy! If we win this game, it could solidify our route in bowl eligibility and the big 12 north race.

The big debate right now is about whether this is podium pounding or a karate chop.  That's probably part of Snyder's plan to throw everyone off.  He's toying with us.  I'm okay with that.

This Sooner team does not suck, and the 'Cats better come with their A game and pumped as hell to even stay in it.  Norman is a cruel place this time of year.

This isn't Ron Prince football.  In case you hadn't noticed, we're in first f*cking place.

Lighten up, Francis.  In case YOU hadn't noticed, OU is not Iowa State, Colorado, or A&M.  It's a road game to a quality opponent, so get a grip.  Sheesh.

the sooners suck and suck big.  do you even know their record?  they have 3 losses.  what's their most impressive win?
i'll let you pick-  a) idaho state, b) baylor,  c)tulsa, d) ku

no wonder OU's defense has looked halfway decent, they've been playing the sisters of the blind.

as has been mentioned, this ain't ron prince's chili that's cooking.  bill snyder likes his pot of chili a lot hotter and with major spice.  NOOB.

Obviously you're the one who doesn't need to buy any ink. OU will defeat everyone left on their schedule. Try checking out some other teams now and then.

I want the 'Cats to win as much as anyone, but the Sooners that you claim suck lost to quality opponents on the road.  If the Sooners suck, then KSU REALLY sucks, without the benefit of having played decent opposition.  Don't be such a homer.

    The very best.
Highly doubt sny'ds SG is vs a south opponent. What benefit do we gain from that, from an SG point of view?

Weird post, pissclams.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

You are an ignorant fool.  The 'Cats don't have to beat the Sooners to achieve their objectives, though it would be nice.  Being a blowhard does not make your team perform better on the field.  And being a loyal K-Stater, you can suck my sock, sock.

does anyone know if there has ever been two official SG's in a single season, the reason I ask is because I wonder if Snydsies wants to take two teams to the woodshed instead of one?

When we beat OU, then we'll be 2-1 against the south.. probably the only team in the North to do that.

Sounds like Snyder is sending a statement to me.

It HAS to be ku.  When the 'Cats were taken down in Lawrence last year, a high-placed Catbacker friend overheard Snyder after the game tell fans something to the effect that things would be getting better.   Sounds to me like he's had enough of the frauds in Lawrence strutting in recruiting circles.

OU is a red herring, and am stunned that people on the board are falling for it.  The real games are with the remaining North teams, and I like our chances given that two of the remaining 3 games are with those rivals at home.  Things are turning out VERY MUCH like Phil Steele predicted pre-season--and he didn't hinge those predictions on K-State winning in Norman.  Our real challenge lies with the remaining games at home.

why are you so against us beating OU?
there is no such thing as a red herring, a win is a win.  a big win is a big win.
sorry but it sounds like you might be up for sad halloween night, because this could be a big SG.  we're leading the entire big 12 north.

Would love for the 'Cats to beat OU.    Skepticism about the probability of K-State beating OU in Norman has me, a loyal 'Cat fan, as being labeled as a sock, a ku fan (now that's just plain wrong and twisted there), and an OU fan.  Ranting about beating an OU team, at home, that "sucks" is kind of, um, "optimistic".  I hope no one sees what I mean Saturday night, but hope they see a SG.

Gus, please STFU and let the adults here do their jobs.

Now, let's think about this logically, people.  Imagine yourself in Snyder's shoes.  That's what I'm doing.  If I'm Snyder, I want the 2009 SG to be in 2010.  Way more people will see it that way and I (Coach Snyder) will get lots more attention.  If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?  No one knows.  That's the point.  I (Coach Snyder) want to know that people will both see and hear the SG or at least be aware that a SG has happened.  That's why I (Coach Snyder) wait until a January bowl game before I even think about SG stuff.

Snyd's could give a crap about statements. He cares about his team getting better every day. Bill has never cared about what outsiders think of his program (see scheduling in first regime for example). He cares about young people getting better and winning football games. :powertard:
