It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I'd say the game plan from the 2003 BigXII championship should do it. Tons of misdirection and a few long plays when they're on their heels.

Also, use players from 2003 team.

run between the tackles?   :rolleyes:

Excellent point/good start. We should follow that with putting a punter on the field.

screen passes, stunts, etc are all expected choices.

But our OL hasn't been a complete disaster this year. One of the biggest things we can do is actually complete some passes downfield. Our D is better than ku's, our running game is better than ku's and our OL looks better than ku's, too. But we have to be a passing threat to score some points in this game.

Need Banks/Snipes to catch-and-run to help us out here. Also, I'm waiting for a Poetwarrior breakdown on how this is an oppoprtunity for Le' Marque's breakout game.  Need to exploit any mismatch we can find.

My guess is we run off tackle ever play the first 3 possessions.  We will get shut down and go 3 and out but our defense will keep us in it.  Then,  in the second quarter we will unleash our play action to Banks and Lamark and Gregory will end up 300 yards passing in a wildcat route.  :dancin:

Indirect tactics, efficiently applied, are inexhaustible
as Heaven and Earth, unending as the flow of rivers and streams;
like the sun and moon, they end but to begin anew;
like the four seasons, they pass away to return once more.

shovel pass....run draws

Zone read with GG keeping it running towards Beal to keep him honest.

They won't pin their ears back (bad term i know) against us like they did against ku

I'm sure you're already dropping nickels on cents sports all over that 26-point line.

Why do you love to K-State lose so much?

Pass block and run block.

There is no secret.

Have a moving pocket.

Don't be left in obvious passing downs like 3rd and Long.

Don't let them have easy touchdowns off of int's.

Sack their QB and mess with their offense.  Don't let them convert 3rd and long.

I'm thinking of laying it on KSU.  26 is alot and we're a D1 team.  That's an OOC line.

You negate their speed by running right at them...and throwing little screens.  Little misdirection wouldn't hurt if our OL can give DT more than a second or so.

    Hey, basketball!!!
Run straight at Beal's or English's athletic asses and after Grant pitches the ball have him dive at their knees and take them out (hopefully their ACL's too!).... :thumbsup:

This is the week we open up Mastrud?  TE's used to be key cogs when we needed big plays.  Slipped them in occasionally.

This is one of the things that pisses me off the most.  Screen passes are always good and I think if we can get the slip screen or WR screen to banks or snipes a couple of times might help.

Just don't pull a Reesing when about to score, telegraphing a screen pass into the arms of an OU defender for a 90-plus yard interception return!

Screens to Banks, Thomas, or Valentine.

Maybe a stop and go route to Lamark.

Blitz them and put Houlik in a position to pick off Landry in the fourth quarter when they're wildly scrambling to make a comeback.   That should be the dagger.

I disagree w/ the screens.

That's exactly what they'll be expecting us to do.

The only way you're going to get past the O-Line is to get receivers behind them and make the LB's move up and open spaces. Short passes over the top in space.  That'll force the D-Line to play back some, then you run delayed draws to the outside after their LB's over commit.

Classic Snyder football.
