Easiest path to 5 wins amongst the north teams

KSU (by far the easiest path to 5 wins)
ku
MU
(also @OU/@NU)

NU (Hard to imagine them winning all three road games)
at Baylor
at ku
KSU
at CU
(also OU)

ku (Very difficult remaining schedule)
at TTech
at KSU
NU
MU in KC
(also @TX)

MU (would have to win out)
at CU
Baylor
at KSU
ISU
ku in KC

CU (actually doable)
MU
aTm
at ISU
NU
(also @OSU)

ISU (If their RB & QB are still out they are toast)
at aTm
CU
at MU
(also OSU)

If we lose two more games we are probably the North champ
If anyone else loses two more games they are probably eliminated

Think about that

our only win left is Mizzou, and I'd call that 50/50.

Has anyone thought of this yet and kinda laughed? its very possible that the north winner could go 4-4 in conf. play say if somehow we win the north but just going 4-4 that only puts us at 6-6 on the season we need 7 wins just to go bowling. so if this were to happen the big 12 north champions wouldnt even go to a bowl game.

If there is a pile up at 4-4 it doesn't look good for us with the tiebreaker games being what they are.  It's possible but not likely.  It would most likely mean that two of NU/ku/MU would have the tie breaker over us.

I don't think ANY of them will get to 5 wins.  I think we'll have a 5 way tie in the North, and ku will win it by virtue of having the highest BCS ranking.

ku (Very easy to imagine them winning these three. they have tie breaker with KSU, but not with NU)
at KSU
NU
MU in KC
(also @Tech @TX)

NU (Hard to imagine them losing all three of these games)
at Baylor
KSU
at CU
(also @ku, OU)

KSU (decent path to 4 wins, tie breaker with ISU, and CU)
MU
(also @OU/@NU...ku is the back up plan to beating MU, even though we play them first.  I just think MU is the better matchup with a less disciplined offense that VK and Cosh can scheme.)

CU (If they beat Mizzou, they have a really great shot at getting 4, they lose to KSU on tie breaker)
MU
aTm
at ISU
(also NU, @OSU)

ISU (I agree with SD, that if their RB & QB are still out they are toast, but if they are in then they could beat aTm on the road and handle CU in Ames.  They lose to ku and KSU on tiebreakers)
at aTm
CU
(also OSU, @MU)

MU (very unlikely to win 4 games, I think they have the least chance to win the North)
Baylor
ISU
(also @CU, @KSU, ku in KC)

My only comment here is that after game one this was not even a thought let alone a topic of the board. Congratulations Bill Snyder. Many  didn't believe but guess what? Snyder did. I loved his indignation after the game as well. Is Snyder serious? I think he is. Great day to be EMAW!~ :kstatriot:

I'm not emawtionally ready to even begin to let that sink.  maybe if we beat ku.  it's completely f'ing ridiculous to think that if we win home games over teams that will have 2 less big 12 wins than KSU when we play them, that we'll get to play our rivals in the B12CG.

Yep.  I'm in the same boat.  I would put our chances of winning the north at about 5-10% right now.  Still, fun to think about it.

I am pulling off the crack pipe while I type this....why not ou?  QB hurt, beast te, hurt, running game not great.  Old man wants to stick one in stoops and break it off.  Stranger things have happened.

Ok back back to the crack pipe.

Have any of you watched these other teams "we can't beat" play?  What about MU, ku, NU have you seen that makes you think we can't beat any of them, particularly the home games?  Furthermore, what the f*ck makes you think any of those teams are capable of winning 4 conference games?

The players on ku's D are small, slow, don't even look D1ish, and have quit (like Prince's defenses).  MU's QB is a disaster and always hurt, plus their defense is almost as clueless as ku's.  NU can't score on anybody (think they are the best of the three, but not by much).  We already beat CU and ISU...

Our team is running the ball effectively, and playing great defense.  That alone wins games, particularly at home.  My only concern right now is what we're going to do if we get behind by more than two scores, and have to start passing.  You can talk sh*t on the shortcomings of our team, but please include in your thought process the obvious and much worse shortcomings of the other teams.

The thing is, without turnovers in amazing field position, we would be without a LOT of points the last couple of weeks.  Look at the game vs Tech.  Obviously, the whole team was just getting blitzed, but we almost never put together a long drive for a TD

I think we're going to have a 2 or 3-way tie with 5 wins, and Mizzou is going to win the division, unless we beat them of course.

You think Mizz wins its last 5 after 0-3?  Their schedule gets easier from here on out, but 5-3 is a stretch.  Remember, they peed down their leg, at home, against Nebraska.  Their game next week @CU will tell us a lot.

Here's how I see it breaking down:

Cats: Could go 0-4, but I think they win at least one more.  Probably Mizzou (unless they trounce CU next weekend).  If we can beat uk at home (toss up), we finish 5-3 and win the North.

uk:  The Jayhoax will beat the nubbs, probably Mizzou, and maybe us.  That's it.  4-4 is best case scenario.

Buffs:  They win their home games (Mizz, aTm, and the nubbs) but lose on the road (ISU and OSU).  4-4.

Mizz:  We'll see after next weekend, but I think they lose to the Buffs, Cats, and squawks.  2-6.  3-5 at best.

ISU:  Great upset in Lincoln, but they just don't have the horses to keep winning.  They lose @aTm, to OSU, and maybe @MU.  3-5.  4-4 at best.

nubbs:     God they suck.  Best shots at a W are @Baylor and us at home  :-[ .  3-5.

Right now, K-State v. uk is the game for the North.  Crazy.  I've just got a bad feeling about what Sparkles and Briscoe are gonna do to us.

SD even giving Bill 5-10% chance is like most other KSU fans giving him 70-80% chance.  We are tough at home and I hope that continues and we have a good chance to get to 5 wins.

cannot believe you'd waste so much time on such a garbage post.

decent path to 4 wins?
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Cire is like a 99% purebred quarterhorse SCARED OF WINNING! Anytime he rounds the corner and doesn't see anyone in front of him, he panics and pisses down his otherwise beautiful haunches thanks to that 1% Russian race horse ancestry.
“My arm gets tired from doing this,” said coach Bill Snyder, waving his arm.
