They have 3 winnable games left. They should beat us and NU. MU seems like a very winnable game as well. I hate to say it, but I think ku will win the North with a 4-4 record.

I actually think CU is in the lead to win the north at this point, they should win all the rest of their home games which puts them at 4-4 and they have the tiebreaker over uk.

4-4 just might win the North after this weeken but at this point does it really even matter who wins it?  It's pretty much obvious all the North teams are crap.  Won't be much to brag about winning it this year it will be like the year CU won it and fired Barnett after the season.

Uh.....The Cats?

at Oklahoma probably an L (we can lose this game and still control our own destiny)
Kansas W
Missouri W
at Nebraska L (Maybe a "W"? 9-7 loss to Iowa State at home with 8 turnovers. Seriously?)

Seriously.....This "the sky is falling" approach after we win is getting old. As a fanbase we need to be above this.

I really dont' see the hawks beating KSU - if this game was in lawrence, then I'd give them the edge - but not in manhattan...   I only see 1 W left for ku - when they play NUbb.

    Hey, basketball!!!
That's the thing. If ku pulls off a W in Lubbock this next weekend I can see them maybe getting to the Big XII CCG. Some QB controversy for the Raiders and their D was absolutely terrible yesterday. ku could drive on them. :ohno:

Then they play us in MHK, which could be a win, then NU @ home and MU @ Arrowhead..

If ku wins vs. TT next week in Lubbock look for them to be the favorite to win the Big XII, unless we win in Norman somehow. :hope:

I think KSU is just as likely to beat OU as uk is to beat TTech.   Even the announcers after the uk game said something to the tone of "If the hawks D doesn't improved, like fast, we could see triple digits next week in Lubbock"

I almost wrecked my truck laughing, but then I had to agree with them.

I don't think anyone has any appreciation for how absurdly horrible uk is right now.  Even their "all mighty" offense is only running at about half speed.  The best player for them yesterday was a not 100% jake sharp.

Reesing hasn't had his head in the game since Mangino started touting him as a heisman candidate, Brisco has had a major case of the butter fingers, and for two weeks in a row, the O-line has been allowing pressure and not opening up holes without some "fancy" playcalling - or the other team being in prevent.   ku was lucky they had 13 pts yesterday; that game could have easily been a shut-out.

I think ku's struggling (obviously) but not done.  TT w/out Sheffield is average.  And it ain't like the North is just filled with good teams.  ku's passing attack is going to be difficult for us to stop, and even if ku's defense (specifically pass defense) has struggled it isn't like our offense can really take advantage of that.  The rest of the way should be an entertaining race towards mediocrity.

ku is done as far as the illusion that they are a good team.  They're not a good team they're average to poor.  But being average to poor puts you right in the mix in the North.  I don't think anyone is out of the North race at this point.  Maybe things will get narrowed down some after next week.  IF NU gets beat at Baylor they're done, if ISU gets beat at A&M they're probably done, loser between CU and MU is done.  ku and KSU will both still be in the race no matter what they do next week.

If you would have asked me after the TTU game if we had a chance to win another game I would have said no.  The team that has played the last 2 weeks is not the same team that lost in Lubbock!  Looking back I don't think we're 40+ points worse than TTU, nor do I think we're 40+ points better than aTm.  I think our remaining home games are very winnable.  Our running game continues to stay strong, our defense continues to get better, I like our chances at home.  That said the remaining road games will be difficult but our style of football may bode well for us.  If we get down next week at OU it could be a long week, however if we get the running game going and the defense plays tough we could be in that game.  After watching the ISU UNL game this week that game looks very winnable.  In all of our remaining games there is no gimme but if we play KSU football the way we've been the last 2 weeks and continue to improve I like where our football team is headed.  EMAW! :kstatriot:
