It's a 5-10 minute drive, followed by hours of waiting outside the arena to make sure we get seats. So we spend at least 4 hours to get into a game, just like your commute. You do not have us beat here. It's just as much of a time investment for students, who have homework to do too.

Lol.  No you don't.

You spend 4 hours to get into a game once a year for ku.

You're really going to play the homework card???  JFC.

This post shows your ignorance.

Conference games are at least a few hours in waiting. the ku game is normally more than 12 hours. Don't post if you don't even know wtf you are talking about

True, if you want to sit at the very back or behind the goal where you can't see crap.  :users:

Skydog, you're a superfan.  I get it and that's great.

Just don't try to tell me that you show up 4 hours before the gates open for Arkansas Pine-Bluff or South Dakota or Cleveland State or Loyola Chicago or Western Illinois or CU on Wednesday night............because you don't.  That's a bunch of BS and you know it.

There are a handful of games where that occurs, and these new incentives that Curry has put in place to increase attendance for student tickets already sold isn't going to make a goddamn bit of difference in whether or not you personally are able to sit at mid-court, 1 row up if you want to.

Again, going back to the original point of this thread.  This action by the AD is ultimately about addressing the persistent problem with the 1,500 seats +/- in Section 23 and 24 that sit empty for the large majority of the season - the games when you're not lined up outside the stadium pre-game - basically all games that aren't on ESPN Gameday or a Big Monday.

As a diehard, I'd think you'd prefer to have the student section packed every night and that you would be proud of being part of one of the most intimidating homecourt advantages in college basketball.  Yes?

Well, of course I would rather see those seats filled. Although at the same time I don't really love the thought of 2k more people who don't know the proper time to boo  :curse:

That being said, you talk like the students leisurely stroll in at 5 mins before tipoff and sit in the first row, which is highly highly inaccurate. We may not have to drive 4 hours, but it's not exactly fun sitting out in the cold for hours before the games. (and yeah, no one waits outside for the crapty non-con games)

Out of a 17 game home schedule, there are maybe 4 to 5 games tops where you are lining up outside for more than an hour.  ku, Texas, MU, maybe OSU or Xavier.

Regardless, I’m focusing on big picture here.  And goal #1 is a packed, intimidating, anger house, every time Frank and the boys take the floor and flaunt their physical aggression across the faces of our opponents.  The coaches want it, the players feed off it, and I think they deserve it.  Whether that’s boozecats like me and Belvis and Pete and whoever else that’s going to put in a four hour commute to make it happen, or the students that are going to walk across campus or load up a car from the frat, or an old in Wamego or Clay Center that’s gotta gas up the F-150 and drive for 15 minutes, we’re all in this bitch together.

I think we can agree that the ultimate goal should be filling the house every game and making the Octagon the toughest place in America to play a college basketball instead of worrying about whether these newfound Catsketball fans are going to eff up the left right chant or defending the apathetic dickwads that buy the tickets but are too lazy to show up for more than two games a season.

Anything is possible when we put our EMAW minds to it.
