I could be wrong but isn't it a good thing when you have more people that want to go to a game, even if it's only a couple games, than the Bram can hold?   :dunno: Just throwin' darts at the wall here.

Scares the f*ck out of me though, because I have to work every weekday.  I can almost always just leave whenever I want, but what if I need to meet a deadline and miss a game :ohno:

Don't wanna miss the ku game

I hope the attendance thing is attached to the tickets and not the student ID.  If thats the case, just make sure you get your tickets to someone who will use them.  If it works like that then I think it is great.  Also with the groups, the group will drag their sh**ty friends to the game that may not want to go so much because they will drag the group down.  I like it.

Insurance contracts are less wordy.  But in reality, just go to the games, bring as many friends with you as you can, and you don't have to freeze your ass off overnight before any game.  The registration is an extra step that probably takes a couple minutes.  I know how college students are strapped for time.

 QFT, I took up smoking during college I was so bored with all the free time.  You go from being at high school from 7am to 7pm (if you played a sport) 5 days a week, to having 15 hours a week of class.

And for some of us, working another 20+ hours per week, and then comes homework somewhere...

That would make what, 35 hours a week? Oh, my God, the horror!!! Sounds like a part time job at a fast food restaurant. Get out in the real world and put in 40-60 hours a week, just at the job, then bitch about it. GMAFB!

Software Engineer   Not everyone takes a bunch of pud classes either, which means hours of homework/projects.  Plus, got paid salary during internship, so I had plenty of very long work weeks.  go away, loser.

Mm.Hmmm. Work a min of a 40 hr week, then we'll talk, ya .

Aren't you a cop?  What a pathetic life.

Not to burst your preconceived bubble, but I'm salaried and still work 50+ hours a week. So, Hem, you may kiss my butt as soon as you figure out what work actually is.     8-)

We camped for up to a week outside Ahearn for prime, non-reserved seats for almost all the Big 8 games in my day. Quit being such a bunch of crybabies and support our Cats! Let's reinstate K-State as one of the premeir places to play basketball. Like we used to do in Ahearn, make the Bram ROCK!!!!!

For EVERY game.

Let's go.

Be Proud!  Be Purple! Go State!

And ADJC goes yard again!  JFC.

Prolly too soon to anoint this guy the next Babe Ruth (of college athletics directors), but you're looking at Willy Mays, Ken Griffey territory here folks.

Yep.  Wonderful move by ADJC (The JC doesn't stand for John Currie, BTW).

"The students in the Huggy/Martin era have really had it nice. I was a student during the F'n Wooly era and didn't miss any games."

Same here, although during the Asbury era (ugh!).  Ohh, and I missed one or two games.  It was always fun during that era telling people I couldn't make a group project meeting because of a non-conference game and having fellow students kinda snicker that I went to those.  Having been back to 3 games in Bramlage the last three seasons, Students now have NO idea how good they it.  I fully support the changes. Nice move!

    The very best.
these threads are fascinating. why do the old people secretly hate students? don't get me wrong, college students are complete losers, but you were students at one time.

Worry about yourself.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

it's not hate, it's jealousy.  I'll admit I'm 100% jealous of every college student.

What he said.  I'm jealous that I don't get to go to many games anymore.  I do remember my friends and I kicking some "ku Game Only" students out of our seats (back when they still had those) during the ku game.  That was pretty satisfying at the time.

Same boat here.

I like rewarding the students who show up to all the OOC games.  I would assume most of the students that post here do so anyway, so why be upset about it? :dunno:

It’s really not about olds vs. youngs.

This is simply about using the fracking ticket you bought.  And if the only game you’re planning on going to this year in basketball is ku, then you can go frack yourself.

Luckily, ADJC “gets it”.  This is all about the secondary revenue that comes from asses in the seats and the consistent home court advantage that comes from it.

Next step will be for him to put the same sort of incentives in place for the olds on their season tickets as well.  So a lazy boozecat like me or Pete or Limestone that commutes 4 hours on a Wednesday night to see the Cats play Baylor or CU or Nebrasketball, gets that ticket scanned and logged, and then starts to accumulate over and above additional Ahearn points based on how often the season ticket actually gets used.

incentives for ticket gifting.    :fatty:

I'm pretty sure it is. They scan the tickets, only look at the ID to "prove" you're a student.

What has me worried is that those "ku only" types will be forced to come to all the games, and the "haven't missed a game in 2 years" crowd, like myself, will not be able to get into the game. It's not that I'm complaining about having to come to all the games, I've been to every single one since I've been here. I'm worried that someone who wouldn't normally be at the game will take my spot if I can't get there early enough. I have organic chemistry lab from 5:30-10:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, so I'll have to work something out to be able to attend the Fort Hays State and Xavier games.

Your K-Statriotism is duly noted and is to be saluted.  But, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

What the AD and Frank are trying to do is finally address Section 22 and 23 of the student section that notoriously sits empty for the majority of the season except for the big conference games.  At the most though, I bet you're talking about 500 - 750 more students going to the games this year (which still would be a nice improvement).

Weren't you kinda excited when the stadium expanded to include more luxury boxes?  Or maybe a little intrigued by the louge seats in the OOD?  You don't have those kind of seats, so why were you "worried" about it?  :dunno:

I was an arch. major, I made it to just about every game-I was always p.o'ed at the retard fans that wouldn't show up to the non-con games but would magically appear for the ku or texas games.
Glad they are putting some accountablity in the student ticket holders.

I don't hate students.  I just hate the students who don't show up for games.  OOD is a 5-10 minute walk or drive for any student.  And 95% of 'em have their tickets paid for by their parents.

So, yeah, when I make the 4 hour roundtrip from KC to support my team, I get very angry when 1500-2000 students decided to stay home and play XBox or jerkoff... or both.  I get visibly angry.

The non-con games are clearly about supporting the team.  The conference games are about supporting the team + watching good competitive basketball.  Logically, the students who skip the non-con games care more about seeing a fun game then supporting the team.  And frankly, sir, these dick-asses can F*themselves.

message for students:  if I don't see you at the game, I hate you.  About as much as I hate D. Scott Fritchen's pleather jacket.

I go to all OOC games, but you're being dumb saying it's a 5-10 min walk. At least know what you're talking about.

Why does it have to be an either/or type thing?   :dunno:

2 hours is plenty of time to do both.

prob the best idea that they could've come up w/ given the circumstances. nothing to stop someone from giving their ticket to someone else just to get it scanned though. not that hard to beat this.

It's a 5-10 minute drive, followed by hours of waiting outside the arena to make sure we get seats. So we spend at least 4 hours to get into a game, just like your commute. You do not have us beat here. It's just as much of a time investment for students, who have homework to do too.

Lol.  No you don't.

You spend 4 hours to get into a game once a year for ku.

You're really going to play the homework card???  JFC.

O.Chem lab is cake when you're actually in the lab. It's all the write up stuff outside lab that sucks. Also...don't do the experiments, find a lab notebook of someone to took the class before you...congrats, you just got an A in organic chem lab. Now you can skip out after an hour every tuesday and get the the GD game.
