Talib charged with simple battery
   The News
The Tampa Tribune is reporting that Bucs' cornerback Aqib Talib has been charged with simple battery in connection with an August 19 incident. Talib reportedly struck a Tampa cab driver while coming home from a nightclub with teammates.
   Our View
Talib is expected to travel with the team for their game in London this week, but it seems likely he will face discipline from the league. This is his third incident since coming into the league, and his off-field activity was one of the reasons he fell a bit in the draft. Maybe he should get together with Chicago Blackhawks' star Patrick Kane to discuss proper taxicab etiquette.

Meanwhile, we have upstanding professional athletes from our alma-mater.

Newman, Sproles, Nelson, Howard, Biesel. (the list goes on)

But ku's ONE guy they have in the NFL that is actually seeing PT.....arrested for battery.

I heard Talib drove to Miami one afternoon, ran into Chalmers at the beach and started talking crap about this girl they both dated back at ku.  Lifeguards had to break it up.

    Hey, basketball!!!
LOL. ku's one good football player that actually went on to the NFL is a total failure. Surprise, surprise....

Big recruiting tool right their ku football. You either don't get to the NFL and do not have any felonies or anything. Or you go to the NFL and get a felony.

Anthony Collins is the starting RT for the Bengals.  Justin Hartwig started at C for the Super Bowl champs.  LOL @ K-State's group of scrubs.

    I survived the Dickey/Parrish era.
Good argument there beaker...

Let's just count players who grabbed the "franchise player" tag to weed out the practice team players.

What's the count now?

Anyone see Talib's three INT's a couple weeks ago?  The guy made Terrence Newan look like a joke.

Does the NFL even recognize Interceptions of Jason Campbell??

They have to throw at you because they think you suck for you to get the opportunity to intercept passes.

Something about Talib and his career thus far must be telling them to throw his way....

Yeah, on a couple of plays he really "owned" . . . then when ku faced the only good offense it played all year . . . 530 yards of total offense, and an 85% completion percentage with 0 int's on nearly 50 attempts.

Most good players usually look good against 77 SOS schedules and 100th ranked offenses.

We've got like 20 some odd guys in the NFL right now.  Pretty crazy considering we've been crap for the past 5 years.  I saw Moran Norris is starting FB for the 49er's.  I think he's the best pro the beaks have right now.

How many 1st team AA's has K-State had recently?  Has T-New ever had 3 picks in one game?  TIA.

Jordy Nelson was a 1st team AA in 2007. I don't think T-New ever had 3 picks in one game, but he was a top 5 pick in the NFL draft, won the Thorpe Award, won Big 12 DPOY, and has gone to a Pro Bowl in the NFL. That's a way better resume than Talib.

Because one game defines which player is better overall... Let's count Talib's Pro Bowls when he's to the point T-New is at now and then compare.

Define recently.  BTW, Jordy was our last 1st team AA.

Also, T-New is a Pro-Bowler.  QB's hesitate to even throw his way.  Newman also is the voice of the Dallas Cowboys and is respected by many current and former NFL players, Coaches, and Media.

You mention Hartwig.  What's his claim-to-fame so far? According to Wikipedia "He was almost the goat of the Super Bowl, as he committed a holding infraction in the endzone in the fourth quarter of the game, not only scoring two points for the Cardinals and ensuring that they would get the ball back on the free kick (and the Cardinals would take a 23-20 lead on that possession), but also wiping out a first down catch by Santonio Holmes that could possibly have sealed the game for the Steelers."  The pride of ku - in front of 98.7 million viewers.

You're not seriously comparing T-New to Talib are you?
