Who is going to be the key player that determines if we have a successful season this year?

Mine is Cmerr......if he doesn't see the court more than 1-2 minutes a game in mop-up duty, we are better.

KSUfans.com will become the #1 Kstate sports BBS!
Samuels or McGruder.

I think your right that was what I was going to go with... I think McGruder as a freshman is going to have to play better than freshman basketball!
"I don't know if I will be able to knock out as many teeth as big Lu, but I hope to pick up on the scoring and rebounding aspects." Wally Judge talking about being a biig of the future for KSU!

C. Kelly and Judge.  Our Guards can compete with anyone in the Big 12.  The missing piece is a dominate force in the front court.

Wally Judge....undoubtedly....if we have a big that can score the ball we will be better. We'll rebound and defend well regardless...

Has Denis put on any weight?
Is your life so sad that KSU football isn't enough?

Dominique Sutton.

Def. Dom.

We need him to become an offensive threat rather than just a guy that the D leaves alone, allowing the D to double another Cat on the floor.  That has to stop.

dom sutton will never become an offensive threat.  fwiw.  and we don't need him to.
would be nice and i have to say i appreciate the dream.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Agreed.  Don't think we will ever be able to rely on Dom providing much offense outside of putbacks and on the break, but he hasn't shown to be reliable in that fashion either.  Dom just doesn't seem to have the tenacity to be the player he is capable of being.  I hope he can be that "Junk Yard Dog" type player, but I wouldn't count on it.  Another thing, if I never see Dom shoot a three or expecially a jumper from 1 foot inside the 3 point line, I'll die a happier man.

Also I don't think JamSam is an X factor type player.  I just think he is good and we need him to be good.  I think JAmSam will surprise this year.  I said he will be all conf by the time he is done at KSU.  I'm sticking with that prediction.

Jamar is awesome, I am looking forward to seeing how his body has developed in the off season, he's bulked up a lot.  Athletic as hell with great touch and quick feet, his size and shot will be his only limitations.  I think he has the potential to be a decent mid-range shooter though if he works on it enough.  And he can overcome some size limitations with his strength.  I think he and Wally play a pretty similar game.

I love Jamar.

Jamar is one of my favorites too.  However, the biggest thing he needs to work on is his own head.  He needs to not get so emotional/mad when he misses his first three shots, or when he takes a 'bow from the other team with no foul call from the ref.

If he could keep his head down and play regardless of what happened last play, he will mentally be more available for more impact through more PT.

If he gets this under control, and given his weight room gains, the kid could be unstoppable.

We don't need Dom to become the primary or even secondary scoring option, but it is B.S. when the D gives him 10' when he has the ball in his hand.  He needs to be able to demand respect from the D.

This year is going to be fun.  However, if we are going to run deep in the tourney, Dom needs to demand that respect.

I think Sutton is the key this year.  He won't lead us in scoring, but I figure he might get close to 10 a game this year.  It will be his all-around game that will help this team.

As far as Jamar goes,  I just don't see it (at least no where near all-conference).  I just think he will max out at a little above average for the B12.  If he has bulked up and gets a lot stronger (like they say) or developes an outside shot, I will definitely be happy to be wrong.  He just scored so much with unorthodox shots last year under the rim.  I expect about the same output from Jamar as last year with better consistency though.  So he will obviously be better.  He is definitely an exciting player that is fun to watch.

I think an interesting question is: How many different players will lead us in scoring this year?

Judge -- That one dude was right: Judge is needed for a true inside scoring threat.  Samuels is good, but inconsistent, and relying on Kelly for scoring is a scary proposition.  We don't need a Beaz or Walker down there, but anything better than Kent and Colon and we're in business.  :beerchug:

Jordan Henriquez-Roberts (never saw the name behind the hyphen before the story in the Star today. then again it was written by dumbass kellis). I expect double figure scoring and eightish rebounds a game from Judge and Kelly. If this guy can actually give the team quality minutes in the middle especially against good bigs, it makes us a different team.

His name has been appearing like that since the beginning of the off season.  And he can't

Why hatin' on the post?  Too robust?  It  is pretty open-ended.
