Decided to put this here instead of Endzone Dive since this happened at the ATM game...

I got to my amazing Section 14 seats and was sitting next to an old guy.  Being friendly EMAW’s we introduced ourselves.  The very next thing he said to me was “Hey, Franchione is still A&M’s coach, right?”  I said “No, man, they got rid of Fran a couple of years ago.  It’s Mike Sherman from the Packers now”  The he said “Oh yeah, welll, ya know Franchione is from Kansas.  Maybe if things had worked out a little differently with Snyder then I bet Fran would have been a good fit to coach here”.  So I just kind of politely nodded and muttered “Oh yeah you think so?”  when really I had a sudden urge to punch him in the face.

During the course of the game he made a few more low FBIQ comments and used phrases such as “pin their ears back” when talking about defense, which I still was able to politely ignore, but during halftime he really amped it up.  When they showed the girls and men’s BBall teams, he leaned over to me and “I sure do enjoy watching those girls play basketball, how about you?"  At this point I’m thinking my whole game experience has been part of some kind of prank TV show, but instead of “Punk’d”, it’s called “Tard’d” .  It’s almost like this guy was reading stuff directly out of the Powertard Approved phrasebook or something.

So it got me wondering, when you get old and your mind becomes weak and feeble, do you automatically turn into a Powertard?  Is this what all of us KSU Fanners have to look forward to?  Please tell me there’s a better future.    :ugh:

    Hey, basketball!!!
If I ever use the phrase "pin their ears back" please politely punch me in the face and knock me the frack out...

And I don't see myself becoming a "Powertard" in my future.

My old man, who graduated in the 60s, basically just swears at the tv the whole game.   He also predicts us to lose every game -- all those years of losing took their toll.  :cyclist:

Naw, I think its more generational than something that will happen to this group of fans with age.  However, I do think we will (20-30 something folks) have our own form of powertardness when we get to be 50-60 something, but it will likely look much different.

Sounds like one of those "My grandkids go to school hear but I know nothing about KSU athletics or Big 12 sports in general but I buy season tickets anyways to show my grandkids I care" type of situations.

At this point I’m thinking my whole game experience has been part of some kind of prank TV show, but instead of “Punk’d”, it’s called “Tard’d” .

Great idea for a show...

I thought I was in an episode when the old timer basketball player started to publically lecture Frank about swearing, in front of 150 people.

How many thousands would populate the stands if only High Football IQ young folks, such as yourself, were allowed to attend games at the Snyder Family Stadium, just asking?

Brock, I'm really disappointed in your post (and this thread).  I thought this was going to be about the original "PowerTards."  In fact, I was hoping it was going to be about the PowerTard chick that had a pretty good body.  I hoped you were going to post pictures/links to vid of her bending over and handing out stuff to little kids (always a good cleavage shot when the girl is on stilts).

I feel like there has been a bait and switch that has taken place (and the picture posted in the one reply of the old chick sure doesn't compensate for my visual desires).   :'(

History repeats itself. So, yes will attain your degree of Powertardness, and your children will call you Powertards, but on a brighter side, your grandchildren will call your children Powertards, but will think you are actually pretty cool.

The phrases you are using now will be the same as "pin their ears back" or "so & so is pretty salty", in the future.
Also the hairstyle you are currently wearing will be LOL when you become an old ptard :cyclist:

This week on "Tard'd":
Powertard: Those youngsters sure look pretty excited to play out there
ksufan: uh yeah
Powertard: I just wish we had some good ole kansas boys like that Houlik fella, he really gives 110% every play
ksufan: uh yeah
Powertard: DARN WHIPPERSNAPPERS SIT DOWN I CAN'T SEE THE GAME!!
Powertard: Say who's our quarterback this year?
YOU JUST GOT TARD'D
“Nobody plays harder than Kansas State.  Bilas said that to me in person,” Martin said. Now, does that mean that I’m happy every day?  No, because it’s our job to continue to get those guys to continue to grow.”

Anybody that believes this uber-cynical-offbrand-us-against-the-world-approach is prevalent has been spending too much time here.  Face it, there just aren't that many "classless cats" out there.....Besides, the minute you start witnessing the schtick here in the mainstream, doesn't that just mean you've been tard'd?  Quite a conundrum.

Seems to me these old tards were sitting in the stands when some of you were still wet spots in the lacy women's panties that your daddy wore when mommy wasn't around.

Seems to me these old tards endured the kind of awful football that makes Ron Prince look like Urban Myer.

And you run this kind of crap?  Bunch'a losers.

ptards are much more fun to deal with when you've bonged a couple.

instead of mumbling a response about how Fran would have been a good fit...that's prime time for a rant:

"Yeah, Fran would have worked out great as a Kstate "fit". Ya know who else is from Kansas?...That BTK Serial Killer. Lets try him on fer size.
