pretty unnannny 4th.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

the big 12 coaches will have egg all over their faces if kstate doesn't finish fourth now.  they're out on a limb, and it's a long way down.
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

Did you happen to notice that the coaches believe we are almost closer #2 (19 points) as we are to #5 (18 points)?

5.    Texas A&M    74

Jesus, the Big 12 coaches respect the hell out of our high school basketball coach.  Imagine if you were a member of the media in Kansas City right now...you'd be crapting razor blades.

    Hey, basketball!!!
Highest ever in pre-season Big XII coaches poll is a bit of a shocker...

I mean the last three seasons we have finished 4th, 3rd, & 4th.

pete, let me let you in on a little secret.  the big 12 coaches are sensitive, they may look tough and hardbitten, but inside they're a bunch of pussycats.  and they're scared to death of looking like fools in front of the media and fans.

so, if they're picking ksu as almost closer to 2nd than 5th, you can be sure they've done their homework, and they think they know something we don't.

i wouldn't want to be in their shoes, but i'd want to bet against them even less.

Most media polls have us around 6th or so.  Not surpised the coaches have us higher then that.  A lot of fans of other schools and media are clueless about what is going on in our bball program right now.  Had a bball conversation with Mizzou fan the other day and for some reason he thought that we were going to be worse then last year until I set him straight.   I guess he thought we just wouldn't be able to replace the white tiger.

Favorite Martin quote of the preseason:

"We've got five new guys who are pretty good," Martin said of his newcomers. "But as good as they've been in workouts, you don't see it because the upperclassmen have been even better.

"We've got experience in places we haven't had since I've been there. We're able to do things differently in preseason when you have a basic understanding of what needs to be done to be competitive in this league. We work on developing skills rather than worrying about developing a work ethic and the toughness that's needed."

Kansas State will win some and they will get outcoached also. I would slide them down the list based on coaching alone. Probably around 7th. I would also put them at number one for team the is about to get on probation for something the coaching staff did.

hahha. They are so jealous of us it's just sad for them.

McDermott is going to do zilch even with Brackins this year. If that guy would have left they would have been battling it out with CU for most pathetic squad this year.

They have already lost the recruiting war to the heavyweights in this conference and they know it. We have bigger fish to fry.

OU, Texas, ku...we gonna beat u.

it's been talked about (to death) at the highest levels.  but the bottom line is, they'll never take us as long as we have fball.  the travel costs are just prohibitive.

more like they're scared to death of Frank and his ties to the Latin Kings.

Frank has also been outspoken about the benefit of having "mits" around the rim.  While I grew to tolerate the white tiger, there is no question that Kelly and Judge will add a much needed interior defensive presence.  Little guards will think twice about getting too deep inside (that's what she said).

With response to the Cyclone guy, I'm not sure ISU insiders should be opining on coaching ability.  See Greg McDermott.  'nuff said.

Ignorance runs rampant when it comes to college coaching.  There are plenty of small college coaches as well as high school coaches in the country that have the ability to coach.  Heck, I think all of the slth coaches in the B12 have the ability to coach (I think Doc is an outstanding coach).  The thing is they have to have players!  Doc, McD, and Bz will be gone soon if they don't start bringing in high level players.

We all know why Frank got the job as well as Dalonte.  I sure won't deny the fact that he was hired to keep the recruiting class in tact.  BFD!  My original worries were whether or not they'd be able to continue to recruit without the Huggins name behind them.  My worries are now gone.  I have never worried about Frank's coaching ability.

Meh, you dudes are picked #1 in the country.  No shame in being picked behind ku this year.

Personally, I believe that both Mizzou and KSU will be in the top half of conference, and OSU and aTm will be in the bottom half.
