It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Man, Curtis Kelly has lost a TON of weight. His face is so much narrower than it was when I last saw him, which was probably March.

Greenawalt put these kids through the grinder and now they are in elite fitness shape. I heard they chow through boxes and boxes of cereal.

Just want to see the new guys, especially Judge and Kelly.  Hopefully we'll know fairly quickly how much better we can be in the frontcourt.

Also want to know if the newcomers (especially guards) can negate the loss of Fred/Buchi. IMO the Buchi loss won't be really noticed, but Fred had his fair share of games that helped the Cats.

i'm most looking forward to the development of our guys that have been in the program for a while.  pullen + jamar especially.  looking forward to watching Wally (best player in the country).

i don't expect much from the young bucks, rare that bucks perform like we're used to seeing with bill walker and mike beasley and other GRCOATers.   what they should be able to provide is depth.  the bucks should be able to spell our backcourt without the entire team dropping into "complete garbage/unable to score for 3 minute stretches" suckitude.

i don't remember the last time we had the depth that we will this year and frank has to be pumped about that, if nothing else.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Great analysis. Couldn't agree more, except that I will volunteer that I would be very discouraged if Curtis Kelly can't at least match what Darren Kent gave the Cats last year. Anything less would be a disappointment.

As for the young bucks, I think the very scenario you describe is what made Frank go in the direction he did, i.e. letting Fred and Buchi walk. I think that second unit is going to be all athleticism, full-court trapping, not letting up, and generating easy buckets for 2-4 minute stretches. Watch and see. It's the first time Frank is going to be able to play the way he's wanted to; couldn't in Year 1 because of Mike and Bill. Couldn't last year because after Jake and Denis, you never knew what you'd get at either end of the court. But now, even if the young bucks can't handle offense, they sure as hell will know how to defend - it's the only way they're going to get on the court.

Fascinating team... Athletically, undoubtedly a Top 20 team. But you have see how it comes together, but I think Frank's style will play to the roster's strengths.

thanks j-mart.
agreed about CK and no doubt that he's going to provide more than Kent was able to, I just don't want to put undue expecations on him.  with the current make up of our team, he should have the time to develop into the type of player he was projected to out of Rice.

i love this year's roster.   we finally have the one thing we've been missing the past 3 years- experience.  we've had the talent but that only takes you so far.  should be fun.

i know that i am excited to see how sutton has matured this off-season.  more aggressive?  takes/makes open jump shots?  heard rave reviews of this performance on the ECAS team.

other than wally and kelly, i also really want to see mcgruder.  one of those guys that doesn't get alot of press, but he gets it done, you know?  i also think that out of all of our young-uns (wally included), rodney has the most frank-ready defensive skills.

ready for all sorts of love-him-one-minute-hate-him-the-next moments with henriquez.  he'll be the most inconsistent young-un.

Could Clemente get any more ?

I have the 09-10 EMAW men's b-ball poster on my wall in my room and he (plus the other four) just stare at me day & night. :ohno:

Also, Wally needs another pic on kstatesports. His looks don't him justice in it. Maybe take the picture that he took of himself on his laptop and put it in there.

Just thought about the loss of Anderson, was it just me, or was his freshmen year more impressive than his sophomore?

Wife just bought a box of LC's today, I'll be eating them everyday until and through the b-ball season.  :lick:
Know the cats will be better, but the rest of the big 12 scares me. uk and ut could both be final 4 type teams, I think we'll probably be in that 4-5 range in the conference, but this year with better scheduling and a tougher conference we're going to go dancing. :kstatriot:

Didn't DK get almost 10 pts and 6 or 7 boards a game last year?  I would be totally happy if CK had those numbers.
The three players I want to see are Jordan, 'Nique, and Rodney.  I really hope Sutton can fully utilize his athleticism and start taking the ball to the rack more often.  Every game last year, I just kept waiting for him to break out and drop 15 or 20.  I really think he has the potential to get double digits every game.

I want to see what Jordan can bring when he is in.  If he can help at all this year, it will be huge and I think we will have a SOLID post game.  From some of the video I've seen on him, he is pretty athletic for a big guy.  And, if he is truely up to 245 lbs, he already has a pretty solid body.

I see Rodney as being an instant spark of energy and offense off of the bench this year.  Dude just seems to be a baller who knows how to score.

I also am jacked to have a player like Wally who can get to the tin and dominate Bill Walker-style (my fav Cat of all time).  He was just so damn hard- he played with the constant Red-Ass :curse:

The best thing about this team this year is we could have a different high-scorer for every single game.  Jake, Denis, Wally, Rodney, 'Nique, CK, Samuels.....I could see any one of these guys leading us in scoring on any given night.

I can't wait till next month and to get to a game and see these guys with my own eyes.

I would love to see them play this way.  Using the second stringers on a full-court press would be a good way to let them have a potentially huge impact on the game.  You just got me even more ridiculously excited about this season.
