There are only two sports, at the most, at any school that make money: football and men’s basketball. And at some schools one of these, or both, don’t make money. That is a fact of life. And the non-revenue sports not only include women’s basketball but also track, wrestling, baseball, gymnastics, swimming, hockey, soccer, lacrosse, rowing... you name it, and it loses money. But all these other sports programs bring a level of prestige and presence to a school and in my opinion are most certainly necessary. So get used to it and just be glad that at K-State the football, and now the men’s basketball, programs do bring in the money necessary to field these other teams.
