Who knew?  We didn't meet up with Bruinpatti (forget to copy her phone number from the pm I got from her) but had heard she was way on the other side.  So we didn't make it, but thanks Patti for all the help.  It was greatly appreciated.

Bruin fans are some of the nicest fans you'll ever meet.  They were very gracious to us as we walked around.  The fact we have beaten their rival nemesis made things a lot easier.

The golf course next to the stadium housed the parking.

Anyone else go?  I'll post a few pics of some of the tailgating.

Thanks to pissclams and his girlfriend as well as his other buddy and his girlfriend for some beer and being a gracious host for us.

Here are some pics..

Looking from pissclams tailgate to the northeast... we were parked about 1/5 mile away.

One of the many EMAW tailgate parties we went by..

Of couse, this partying chick couldn't avoid the camera.  I got her phone number (I told her I was a talent scout in LA.)

Some UCLA fans next to the pissclams tailgate...

Bookie Pimp throwing a football while the UCLA fans played beer pong..

Group of UCLA tailgaters on the other side of pissclams, very nice people and they were telling us about the tailgating in general.  Wonderful people.  This was what you saw pretty much everywhere.  I think having it on the golf course helps.

Of course, the Rose Bowl front entrance.

Picture of BookiePimp (left) and some fatass mexican..

Robert showed up.  Always great to see him.  Sat near us most of the game.

Testing the electronic zoom lens on the camera.  This was the best I could come up with to test..

Former Head Coach Jim Wooldridge sat a few seats below us.  He is now in California.

UCLA fans taunting us..  :curse:

Anyone else, add to this thread.

Can't believe Wooly showed.  Good for him, I guess.  Was he visibly cheering for the kazzuckatzzz?

Yeah, and lots of people waved to him and he was very receptive.  He was being led around by someone from K-State, I think it was an alum rep.

Clearly he still appreciates K-State.

You're still mad at him for the Louisville Slugger comment aren't you?

It's odd that he has a thing for male butts and baseball bats.

hmmmm, appears to me that Bookie is wearing one of the jerseys they gave out to the 350 players who showed up for the family reunion?

Glad you had a good time (except for the score of the game). Too bad you didn't make it down to Lot H MJ, was looking forward to meeting you. I met lots of nice KSU folks out at the tailgate and in the stadium....even had a couple sitting right next to me at the game. Poor guy was chewing his nails so much he didn't have any left by the end of the game.

I saw weird Robert out at the tailgate while I was walking around.

Had a couple of your fans from your Scout forum come by and visit with us for a while at our tailgate....Hilltopwildcat and his lovely wife...they also joined us for our post game tailgate. Very nice people!

You guys represented well out in the tailgate areas and in the stadium. Had a good size crowd there. Lots of purple out in Lot H...and many of them were there at 9 when parking opened. It was hard to get a handle on exactly how many KSU fans there were because it was dark when the game started...and makes it much more difficult to pick up the colors in the crowd. But I'd say it was probably somewhere around 6-8K. Lots of nice friendly fans. Didn't see any bad behavior at all. Although I understand a couple very drunk guys had to be "escorted" out of the stadium by the police.

Hopefully we can get another home and home set up for the future. We seem to make our way through most of the Big 12 teams on a rotating basis....so maybe we'll see you guys again in about 10-15 years. We have Texas and Nebraska coming up again in the next few years.

Good luck the rest of the way. I know you guys are pretty much where we are....in a rebuilding year. But...there is light at the end of the tunnel.....be patient, you'll get back on track very soon, as we will.

It is.  He was on the team from 1989-1991 I believe.

It can't be.  mjrod doesn't wear 1950s-era Sir Edmund Hilary climbing boots.

Or so I've been told.

Former Head Coach Jim Wooldridge sat a few seats below us.  He is now in California.

Anyone else not shocked that MJ didn't know this prior to this?  Actually good report though MJ.

Thanks.  No, I didn't know.  Neither did some of the people around me.

It was nice to see him come out.  He is a great human being.

Any one find it ironic that UCLA Tailgates on a golf course while we tailgate in a sheep lot?

I think my grandpa killed somebody once, but he never liked to talk about Kent State.

the tailgating was awesome, Lot H was full when we got there at 3 so we hit the golf course, i think i would prefer the course anyways, it was hot and lot H is blacktop.  the rose bowl is awesome, everything you would think, sitting right along a huge mountain range.  pasadena was pimp, beautiful homes. UCLA chicks are :jeffy:

i thought there was more EMAW than what Bruin Patti said, maybe in the 10k range.

throughout the day as we were lost and finding our way to the golf course and through pasadena etc, the term "What would Bruin Patti do?" was heard several hundred times.  her spirit was with us.

great post mj!
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

WWBPD? "What would BruinPatti do?"....Oh that is too funny. I love it. Maybe in the future I should change the title of the helpful hints and tidbits to "WWBPD?"

Glad you had a good time and hopefully some of my tidbits helped you along the way.  The Scout fans that I met said they particularly loved the advice on looking for the numbered balloon markers out on the golf course, and passed that nugget on to several other KSU fans out there who were worried about being able to find their car after the game.

BTW, Lot H is grass, not blacktop. BUT...it is mostly out in the sun...doesn't have near the tree/shade coverage the golf course has. I'm glad so many of you were able to make it out there for some tailgating. The Rose Bowl itself may be a pretty old stadium...and doesn't have many of the modern upgraded facilities....but....you can't beat the tailgating areas it provides.
