    Gettin' angried up!!!
Think of it this way.  Suppose you watch the best wrapping up and tackling you've ever seen in your life, but Snyder goes 1-10.  Is that an improvement?  Suppose over the next five years you see the most fundamentally sound football of your life and Snyder's record is 5-50.  Is that an improvement?

Typically fundamentally sounds football results in wins.  Not sure why you seem to think the two are mutually exclusive.

I don't think they're mutually exclusive, just that they're not necessarily correlated.  If you're players aren't D-1 caliber players, how much does anything else you do matter?

I would say that they are definitely correlated.  Teams that are fundamentally sound tend to beat teams that are undisciplined.  Example:  UCLA shot themselves in the foot numerous times tonight and if we had been slightly better tonight, we had a legitimate chance to steal a victory because of it.  Even though they are much more talented than us.  Obviously, we need to bring in more talent, but that wasn't really much of an option this year, was it?  Snyds has brought in some dudes that have increased the talent level, and looks to be doing the same with the recruiting class.  We'll be decent/good again, but it ain't gonna be this year.

I'm sure you won't agree, but it's entirely possible that Snyder will fail to do any better than Prince did.  That's all.

Where is this improvement, anyway?  What has Snyder done that Prince didn't do?
hate to be all powertardy but there is definite fundamental improvement, but the talent level is atrocious. Atrocious.

I was about to say Snyder brought in a great defensive mind but then quickly remembered we actually had a future NFL coach on our sidelines for a year...

Look, I will call a spade a spade, but if you don't see a difference between this year and last year you really don't know what you are talking about. My main point is that Coach Snyder is a winner and you don't have to agree with what he does all the time, but damn there are alot of people on here that act like they know what the hell is going on and they just dont. And if they are just looking for a pissing match then fine. Coach may not get back to 11 win seasons, but it will be better than Prince.

Here's the thing you need to understand: this board does not want Snyder, Prince, Wooldridge, or fracking Stan Parrish to fail. The conundrum for us comes when we have to deal with fracking self-righteous morons like yourself. We want to root for the Katz, but we also hate you, which is somewhat of a difficult position to be in.

So really, it's not Snyder. It's you.

Funny...Moron. I don't even know what you are saying. Speak english, it will make it easier for all of us.

Yes, I would say you are confused. It takes more than a 5th grade education to understand the point of the thread and my last response to you.

I definitely agree that it's possible, but I don't think it will happen. Unless this staff is a total failure with regards to recruiting, we should at least get back to bowl eligibility levels again.  Seems like Prince was headed in the opposite direction the last two years.  Can you imagine what the offense would look like this year under Prince, w/o Freems?

I would put the odds that Snyder fails to make this a bowl program within four years at about 10%. His track record plus better coaches plus better players puts the odds in his favor. Add in an extra game to become bowl eligible since his first retirement and it's really not that difficult.
Show me defense.

one of the most frustrating games i have ever watched.

this offense is like a song that you listened to a lot when you were younger. or a food that you ate too much of.

end result?

the sight of it makes you sick.

my opinion............should of won. beat ucla multiple times on defense and just barely slipped up and let them seal the game. botom line iss this team is a ton better than they were las week and will be better each and every week. LSnyder is not a Loser and he has already turned this program around. fu*k all you naysayers, we are back, and all it will take is this season.
Watch the damn game and you will see it........... :powertard:

Bill Snyder brought some of that 98 magic with him.  You know what I'm talking about.  Look great for a whole season, then crap it away in overtime of the B12 Championship.

In this case, you got an offense looking great for part of a drive, then getting incrementally suckier the closer it gets to the opposing team's end zone.

I laughed.

K-State would get UCLA's offense in 3rd and 700 with the Bruins hiking the ball from the 101 North of downtown Los Angeles, and somehow the Bruins would still convert.

Then K-State's offense would have in first and goal from the one-inch line, and somehow turn it into a punting situation.

As my good friend Kellis likes to say, you play in the middle of the field for show and at the ends of the field for dough.  Well, actually I think John Madden said it first.  That said, K-State is a lot of show and not a lot of dough ... unless you count the doughy, pasty skin hanging off Carson Coffman's Alfred E Newman face.

If you're going to say who should have won, UCLA should have killed us.  It took everything wrinkle in our playbook for us not to get embarrassed.  On the other hand, UCLA ran the ball ran straight at us and popped off first down after first down.  But, really, look no further than all of their inopportune penalties.  All easily avoidable.

I just don't know why you guys choose to talk about things like winning and improvement.  All this thread is really about is ISWT.  Nothing more.

Or defense is not great but it is much better than last year.  If that was last years defense on the field Franklin would have have 250 yds and 3 td in the first half.  Our offense is ridiculously bad, coughman is slow, even his pump fake seems to need to be clocked on a calender, he holds the ball too long which is the reason for so many sacks.  We run the option read and he makes the wrong read about 85% of the time.  He sucks and there is nothing Snyder can do about that, he tries to put him in situations that Carson can't screw us but he finds a way to do it.

I thought K-State's overall offensive gameplan was pretty decent last night.   Banks was wide open in the endzone on that early drive, a Pop Warner QB completes that pass.   The only WTF situation was when they went pure "wildcat" when the game was still in reach.

If (and they don't) K-State had a competent QB UCLA can't pin their ears back late in the game . . . if Coffman makes good decisions we still probably don't win, but it's a nailbiter . . . If Coffman simply delivers that fullback screen to the proper shoulder and with some zip on the ball . . . we get a first down . . . if Coffman tucks and runs we move the chains, drive continues.   We can't go vertical because Coffman can't complete the passes, so that lets defenses walkup to the line of scrimmage and that makes it a lot harder to run.

But that's what no talent does . . . leaves you nothing but woulda, coulda, shoulda's.

ku's ranked 3rd in the country in total offense.  Of course UTEP and Duke's defenses will be ranked low after playing an offensive powerhouse like ku.

Porkchop,
I couldn't agree more with what you said.  I get to the point where somtimes I read this forum for a few minutes and can't take it anymore.  I will leave and try to find somwhere else that doesn't spew hate.  A wildcat fan or any other fan has to support through thick and thin.  I went to KSU in the early to mid 80's so I know how low it can go.  I went into the UCLA game thinking we had a chance.  I never went into any game after 82 thinking we had a chance. Some of these morons think they can coach, or know talent better than BS.  They think Bill doesn't want any 4 or 5 star guys because then he can't coach them up.  Believe me, Bill wants to win more than any idiot reading this forum and he has forgotten more about coaching than any idiot reading this forum, has ever learned.

I agree totally: Snyder = Winner .  The first PROJECT for Snyder was to fix the defense. I'd say he's done a pretty damn good job doing that. Like someone else said,"offense not good". I agree. Mark my words. The offense will improve inspite of not being as talented as we would like. Again classic Snyder. When you plug the dam, you start with the biggest leak. Add a pretty solid class like he looks to be in the process of doing and we will once again be a force to be reckened with. I think uCLA had all they wanted on Saturday.
