Gonna go out on a limb and say they based it on his high school and juco (Broward) play.  That ranking came out in Nov. of 2008, so they would have had little to base anyone's rankings on at that point, whether they were playing that season or not.

He wasn't rated that high anywhere else either.  Apparently, someone at ESPN saw something at Broward (that no one else saw) that impressed the hell out of them.  Can't really think of any other plausible situations.

Seems like we might be okay at the G positions for a few years, but I sure would like to have an actual big man in the middle.  I imagine Frank probably knew quite awhile ago the D Ptete wouldn't be here this year.  Certainly makes the whole schollie debate of 2009 look pretty silly in hindsight.
