Kind of sad that KSU can't get more fans to the stadium than ISU can to theirs  :frown:

What's Iowa State got to do with the fact that there are still 1000's of tickets still available for the 2009 Big 12 North Pre-Season Champions??

Nothing really, I just find it amusing. A team that has won less than 10 games in the last three years still outdraws ksu..interesting. Looks like there will be more red than purple at arrowhead.

Self . . . ku is doing a good on the recruiting trail, but it's not like there's some kind of massive gap in talent between who K-State is likely going to land this year, over who ku is likely to land this year.   Come on man, ku ain't Texas or USC.

Texas and USC are elite football programs that attract top talent. Obviously we are not on their level; I never claimed that we were. Still, ku staff is selling the program and we are going to continue to improve. Hopefully fans notice this improvement and it can generate some interest in the program resulting in ticket sales/improved gameday atmosphere.

That's 300 Family Zone Packs . . . that's about 1200 of the cheapest tickets still left for "History Awaits".

I just reserved 594 "family packs".   Hmmm . . .

The main point was that there is nothing close to an insurmountable, or frankly any clearly discernible talent gap between who ku will likely sign this year, and who K-State will likely sign this year.

if ku averages 51000 per game does it really matter how many tickets you can reserve now?  Fact is they are on pace to set another record for season tickets sold, been going up for 5 years now why ksu has been declining.  don't really understand your "ku still has season tickets" moral victory here dax.
According to ku police reports, the fight involved as many as 100 people.
“We’re pretty sure an incident occurred,” said Capt. Schuyler Bailey, ku Public Safety Officer
“We will handle any discipline regarding this incident internally, and we will have no further comment about it.” Perkins

So you're declaring a clear cut recruiting victory on August 2nd??

Jovanta Boyd was a 3 star out of High School, with offers from 2 SEC schools, 2 ACC Schools and a Big East School and is sticking with K-State.

ku and MU offered Adam Davis . . . oh wait, wait, Davis was one of those "you'll just have to wait and see, because we've got guys lined up around the corner to play here" ku offers (that has nothing to do with the fact that ku will only sign 15-16 guys ).

But really . . . August 2nd??

you seem to be declaring a clear cut "season ticket sales" victory on Aug 2, even though ku is on pace to beat last years record number of season tickets.

LOL . . . you're just not very bright sometimes hawks . . . I am lampooning the fact that ku must undergo massive marketing campaigns in order to get the "fans" rallied to buy tickets for "History Awaits".   Here it is August, and ku is burning up the airwaves and billboards with ads trying to find enough folks willing to buy tickets for the 2009 Big 12 North Pre-Season Champions.   It's only a 50,000 seat stadium, on a traditional campus, with 28,000 students, in a town of 100K, with over 100K alumni within an hour or two, just down the road from KC.   I would have thought "history awaits" would've pretty much sold itself.

Not to mention when I clicked on our commit list we had two Javonta Boyds'!  One listed at 6'3" 300lbs and the other at 6'4" 302lbs.  Twin DT's >>>> Twin Moron Forwards     :ksu:

The fact that ku football is getting this kind of preseason recognition is really killing 'Pad.  You can literally feel the hate and denial emanating from his posts.  Oh, and by the way, 'Pad... ku's recruiting class completely shames K-State's.

Pretty ironic considering that K-State's only decent commitment is planning on taking all five official visits.  No way Demarcus Robinson ends up at K-State.

got a link?

didn't think so.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Still amazes me people get all caught up in the recruiting rankings.  ku went to the Orange bowl with mostly two stars.  Per the experts they have been recruiting better and now I look at their roster and frankly it's not nearly as talented as it was a couple of years ago.   Everytime ku gets a 4 star recruit he ends up sucking.  The DB from TX who I don't think is on the team, the twin WR/DB from Lawrence I don't know what happened to him, the juco OT from Aussie, The rapist jc RB, the lb from TX that switched to ku from UT after UT dropped him for disciplinary reasons.  To a man these guys  have all sucked but ku fans still get excited about these rankings.

When I looked at ku's roster and prefall two deep the other day I was surprised at what I saw. A team that is weak in the o-line with a freshman 260 pound converted  TE starting at OT, another freshman starting a guard, a walk who played TE at air force on the two deep at OT.  No depth at RB behind Sharp.

On defense ku has two guys listed as starters who were back ups on offense last season and have never taken a snap on defense.  They've got no depth at DE with a walkon on the two deep and they are counting on true freshman.  The  LB corp isn't very good, secondary isn't very good outside of Stukey.  DL is marginal.

KSU has it's own issues on it's roster but honestly when I started looking at ku I was surprised at the holes they have.  I don't look at that depth chart and see a division champion. NU for instance is much deeper and stronger pretty much everywhere but WR and QB.    To me football is still about the trenches I don't see ku winning the division just with good QB and WR play.

Either you're in some hardcore denial, or you just don't know what the f*ck you're talking about when it comes to ku football.

1.  ku is far from weak on the o-line.  Jeremiah Hatch, Jeff Spikes, John Williams, Sal Capra, and Tanner Hawkinson will form a very good o-line next season.  Hawkinson is up to 285 and has quick feet and good instincts.  Mangino has had a lot of success converting tight ends to o-tackle.  Hawkinson has a chance to be one of the best lineman Mangino has had.

2.  No depth at running back behind Sharp?  Did you attend ku's spring game?  Did you see Rell Lewis?  Have you heard of Daniel Porter?  Have you heard of Toben Opurum?  If there's anyone that doesn't have sh*t at running back, it's K-State.

3.  No depth at d-end?  Jake Laptad had 7 sacks last season and 2 forced safeties.  Max Onyegbule is finally coming into his own.  Quinton Woods committed to Michigan out of high school and has been tearing it up in summer workouts.  Kevin Young will see the field right away as a true freshman.  ku's got plenty of depth at d-end.... this is the first year since '05 that ku will have a solid pass rush from the d-end position.

4.  Arist Wright, Steven Johnson, Angus Quigley, Vernon Brooks, Justin Springer, etc, etc. at LB to start the season.  More athleticism and explosiveness at linebacker than what we've had in the past.  Brooks was a juco AA with offers to OU and Tennessee.

5.  The d-tackle position is stacked with Greene, Johnson, Parish, Blakesley, etc.  ku goes at least 4-deep at DT with a couple guys who would start at just about any other school in the North.

Seriously, stick to something you know about, because you are absolutely clueless when it comes to ku.  Should be quite the eye opener when ku rolls into Manhattan and creams your group of D-2 scrubs by about 6 TD's.

I was under the impression that Nebraska was the favorites across the country and in the media, with a few people going with ku.  Maybe I'm mistaken.  Anyway, kus advertising campaign, along with everything else they have been doing is called building a program.  I know what your thinking, we don't have any power towels and there aren't any ripoffs of Pepsi in our advertising so they are doomed to fail.  Maybe, I guess we'll see.

191 Days until signing day . . . the resident validators have declared ku's recruiting class to be vastly superior to K-State's.

Pretty ballsy . . . even for the fans of the 2009 Big 12 North Pre-Season Champions.
