Good question because if you match them side by side imo:
Beasley   > Judge
Walker    > Samuels
Pullen    < Pullen as a Jr.
Stewart  < Clemente
Sutton    < Sutton as a Jr.
Kent       > Henriquez
Colon      < Colon as a Sr.
Brown     < McGruder
Anderson < Kelly
Young     < Pullen

I tried to compare talent.  I put Pullen in twice because he was on the 08 team but will compare to Young also as probable starting 2 guard.  If Kelly is worth his salt and battles Colon for that starting spot I really like this team.  I think there is much more usable depth.  The starting five for 07-08 had more talent but the 09-10 team is much more complete and evenly talented where our front court (Beaz and Walker) was the only thing keeping us afloat in 07-08.  I'd take this team over 08-07.

07-08 had superior talent at the top obviously but dropped off rather sharply.  09-10 will not have the talent at the top but will be deeper and more balanced.  07-08 probably better.  I don't know.

I think 09-10 should be better.  Much deeper, much more experienced so much better in the back court it's not even funny.  Don't have a Beasley but more depth of talent.   Of course the 07-09 team had a killer injury when Dave Hoskins never played a single minute.  That team was better on paper at this time of the year then what it ended up being.  If the 09-10 team stays healthy I think it can be pretty good.

    I think therefore I think I'm hungry
I think it's pretty easy to say next years team will be better, but our best player will not be as good.

Guard play will be much, much better. Next year's team should also be much better defensively with better depth
But yeah the Hoskins' injury was a killer. It took a second team all-league senior off the court -- would be akin to Clemente going down before the first game.

If that happens we will all personally blame you.

We better have a good showing in the non con games this year. That alone would prove that we're a better team then the last 3 seasons. Plus, our failure to do anything in the non-con has kept us out of the tournament 2/3 years so it's practically a must do.

Actually what has kept us out has been our SOS, which is now going to be fairly solid.  I think we have the potential to do really well against our schedule which is the difference between this year's team and previous years.

QFT, I'm just waiting for a KITN, and this seems about right. The 09-10 team has much better guards (sorry clent) and the college game is a guard game
“Nobody plays harder than Kansas State.  Bilas said that to me in person,” Martin said. Now, does that mean that I’m happy every day?  No, because it’s our job to continue to get those guys to continue to grow.”

Beasley and Walker would be #1 and #2 as we all agree.

But after that, there is no comparison. This years team will be much better and deeper. Our guard play in 07/08 was awful and cost us big time in the second round among other games. Down low we don't have Beasley, but we've got 3 guys that are better than anyone else we've had down there in recent memory.
