I've been fooled multiple times.  However, the biggest dissapointment was probably this year.  After winning 3 in a row, I thought we had finally "got it".

You can't be racist and like basketball.
The MU and Iowa games in year one got me.

UT and OSU wins in year two.

Years three, four, five, or six never quite did it for me.

Here are a few that raised my hope.

The UT and OSU wins is still the most impressive back to back pair of wins he's had.

The Tech win to open 03 Big 12 play.

Winning at Missouri last year to bring us to .500 in the league.

The 3 game streak this year.

I'm easily fooled I guess, or not a cynic; one of the two anyway. :)

    The very best.
Concur with Rusty. I had some hope after the 3 game winning streak, but nothing major.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Yeah, the MU win was a road game where we actually won with some comfort.  The only other time we really accomplished that was beating the mighty Shockers by 13 in the Coliseum while their arena was in rehab.

not wins for me, i got sucked in with the massey, martin, harris, hughes, willingham, williams, diarra class.  while even at that time it was clear several of those players were projects (harris and hughes) it also featured a couple of players with better HS resumes than anyone i could remember at KSU (martin and willingham) along with a dominant juco big (massey) and a couple of other talented juco bigs (williams and diarra).

although the hoop scoop ranking was fool's gold and only served as an easy point to mock the class in retrospect, it really was a very talented group of players.  significantly better than any group wooldridge brought in before or since.  and arguably better than asbury's first class which was certainly his best.  i thought then that KSU would be in the tourney in '05 and '06.  and i still think based on talent that they should have.
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

I have to agree.  The MU and Iowa games got me excited.  The UT and OSU games gave me hope.  After that I knew we would never get anywhere with the Woolmeister.

the texas win in 2003.  figured with that big time recruiting class that we'd be riding high for the next few years.  then we got beat in the tourney first round then willingham left.

Beating TT at home at the start of 2003 and getting votes had me going, then the season went downhill. Its been pretty much downhill from there.  I didn't know mountains could be that high, I must be somewhere toward the bottom of the Marianas Trench.

The 3 game streak at the start of this confrence season got my hopes up a tiny bit, but I knew it would never last and Wooly shouldn't have even been coaching those games. :banghead:
