Fresh peaches are like infinite times better than canned. Unbelievable how much difference it is, they're almost like two different fruits.

Peach pie > apple pie.

Very true. But apple is a damn good pie nonetheless.

I liked the book James and the Giant peach when I was a youngster.  I always thought it would be awesome to live inside a giant peach with a collection of insects.  In hindsight, it would be scary and sticky (like my wedding night! BAM)

But seriously, peaches don't really do it for me, the book notwithstanding.

still not sure. possible fruits competing w/ the peach for worlds #1 fruit- oranges and grapefruits.

worst commonly eaten fruit-cherry.
best canned fruit-mandarin oranges.
most surprising fruit that i didn't know was a fruit-eggplant

Folks, I'm telling you -  :lick:

Dried apricots are a good healthy snack.   BUT: According to wikipedia, among American tank-driving soldiers, apricots are taboo, by superstition.  Tankers will not eat apricots, allow apricots onto their vehicles, and often will not even say the word "apricot."  This superstition stems from Sherman tank breakdowns purportedly happening in the presence of cans of apricots.

I don't know if I trust this fruit...

Do you trust the number 13 or Friday or broken mirrors ?

Of course, who am I to argue with American tank-driving soldiers ?  Never knew that superstition.  Guess I won't be doing any of that should I ever be allowed to drive a tank.

thread wasn't really about favorite/best fruit/dairy combo.  If it were it would be titled "Green apples and cheese"
