To all the pessimists ... there is a team right down the road that is doing well according to its fans, and maybe you want to go jump on the fat man's shorts for awhile.
You know why I'm excited?
1. We can expect to see more disciplined ball.
2. We can expect to see better defensive schemes.
3. We can expect to see a coach on the sidelines who knows what he is doing.
4. We can finally see what these players are made of by evaluating their performance under the best possible conditions for the program (that is, with the best possible coaching and conditioning).
I'm not saying world beaters. I'm not saying B12 Championship. I'm not even saying bowl game.
But despite what some of you say about Coach, he is still the best thing to ever happen to Kansas State football, and if he can't at least get these boys playing to their best potential, no one can.
You all cry about talent. What the heck is talent anyway? There is pure natural talent, and then there is the talent you develop with hard work and focus. I think that if you're a player willing to gut it out under Snyder's system, you will acquiesce to hard work and focus. Snyder gets the best out of his players, period.
That alone should excite the hell out of you after three years of R. Hussein Prince crapping all over things. I just want to see these boys play with real coaching and real conditioning, not the half-assed junior high ball I saw last year.
PS: I'm not saying we beat ku, but if Snyder doesn't have those boys utterly ashamed of themselves and fired up for redemption in front of their home crowd come November, then he definitely is too old. The Squawk game is the one game I want to see if for no other reason than to see how these boys respond to Snyds against a hated rival that humiliated them a year ago.
That is all.
