There was a powertard thread on gopowertard recently about favorite beer. I LOL'd at all the powertard homers that literally said Tall Grass ale or wheat was their favorite beer.  Both are pretty bad for a microbrew.

the Ale is "OK"  Wheat sux, IPA in any brand is terrible, and the Kold is crap.

They have tallgrass at the Hyvee here in Omaha.  Was kind of suprised about that.  kind of gross.  Actually, the hyvee here in town has a pretty amazing selection of micros.  The guy that works back there knows a lot too.  He, like, tells me different ingredients of each beer I'm looking at and says crap like, "It has a slight earthiness but also a crisp citrus that hits the back of your palate."  I'm usually all, "Whatevs, give me a six of that and a case of bud light".

    CTR is back on: Hornsdown
Stones and it isn't even close.

Dear QM,

I regret to inform you that I will not be able to attend any 'pakers you ever host due to your gross beer selection.

Regretfully,

LSOC

Dear LSOC,

I am dissapointed to inform you, that I am not of a high enough qualified rank to be a 'paker host.  Only high enough to be the treasurer, unfortunately.  But if in the future I do gain the competency to be a host, the 'paker will likely be a b.y.o.b.  So people may please themselves.

Cordially,

QM

don't fracking be a kiss ass,  you like what you like.  even if you like really shltty beer.

Dear Cire,

I am especially sorry to see of your displeasure in my party planning abilities. If you want you may plan your own party, and provide all the Hard Lemonade you want. Love you lots.

QM

    "Tacky" -Kietz
Trim's Manhattan apartment from a decade ago:

I know the guy who started Tallgrass.  Went in there when it was getting off the ground and watched him bottling beer Laverne & Shirley style.  Seems to be blowing up though.  I'm still a Keystone guy.  In fact, I think I left one in Daris' fridge at the first Manhattan 'pak'r.

I really think Tallgrass is not very good. I love the idea of having a brewery in Manhattan, but we deserve better beer than this!

Little Applel Brewery needs to look into increasing production of their beers. I highly doubt they could do it with what they have now, but I really want to be able to pick up a sixer of "Wildcat Wheat" to start off a night, ya know?

Their food has gone down hill big time, Tallgrass is ok, I heard the guy has 300 beer recipes or  something, so at least some of them should be good
“Nobody plays harder than Kansas State.  Bilas said that to me in person,” Martin said. Now, does that mean that I’m happy every day?  No, because it’s our job to continue to get those guys to continue to grow.”

I have never had Tallgrass and haven't had anything from LA in awhile.  RD, prepare for a Manhattan mini beer tasting 'paker.  Should I bring PW or OPcat?

There's very few micro brews I find appealing . . . they just try to so hard to be different that they end up producing $hitty beer.

i would say that they may not produce crapty beers...they just don't make pilsner beers that you like. to each his own. i don't mind keystone, natty, mil best,busch...they're all fine, but i prefer a million other beers all things considered. take price/advertising out of the equation and american pilsner beers wouldn't be everyone's favs.
