    Ready for Maize girls!
Even with the addition of one more player to the team this year, it's highly likely that Merriewether keeps the scholly he earned last season (currently 12 scholarship players on the roster, counting CM).

That means that 3 schollies will become available for the 2010 class - Denis, Luis and CM.  And we know that 2 of those slots have been filled by Mitchell and Spradling.

So, the question is, who do you want to take the last scholly for '10?  Realistically  Keep in mind that we also have 3 schollies coming available for the '11 class - Jake, Dom and Curtis and the addition of Asprilla or Peterson may occur before this season starts.

I think we have a fairly good shot with Khyle Marshall (6-6 SF), but perhaps it would be better for us to use the scholly on a big man if Asprilla doesn't transfer here.  Having only 4 post players in the Big 12 after Luis leaves could be problematic.

KC Ross-Miller would also be a nice addition and prepare us for the departure of Jake but would pretty much rule us out from getting a PG in '11 where we have a decent shot with both Donivine Stewart and Quinn Cook.  Plus I think adding another guard would make us really heavy at the 1 and 2 positions, especially if Peterson makes it to campus for '09.

So what makes the most sense, HBBIQers?

Just an average BBIQer here but I think D Pete comes in and Freddy stays at FIU.  It's anyone's guess at this point on who that last schollie goes to for the next class but my guess is it's not going to be someone really highly rated.  There just won't be a ton of minutes out there for anyone that's not a really really highly talented prospect.  I'll say if we have another schollie we hold it for the late signing period.

Every year it seems someone transfers out too so odds are we may have more than one spot.  It's a crapshoot at this point.  What I do know is the next 2 years look very good for EMAWBB.

asprilla and marshall would be great.  i like everything written about marshall, and i like the idea of a 3 in '10.  1 year behind sutton and then his spot to lose.

asprilla isn't going to stay at fiu.
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."
