As an iPhone fanatic I was introduced to my first Palm Pre today.  Very nice looking.  Very neat.  Really cool.  I was impressed!! The only flaw I saw was that it wasn't an iPhone.

So you like having to wear an Ove-Glove just to talk on the phone?

Haven't had any of those issues.  I've had 3 different 3G handsets and none have become hot.  2 became wet however and they didn't like that.

So, anyone going to get a Blackberry Tour?  Looks pretty nice.  Way better than the blackberry they ripped katkid off with.

SD...I am getting the tour on the 12th when Verizon releases it.  Will report back any findings.  Very very  :excited: about it......

Just stick one of these bad boys on the back of it, and your cult buddies won't kick you out of the club.

Attention IPhone users:

Behold, Trapster.

If the speed and traffic cameras were actually there to save lives, what difference does it make if you are alerted ahead of time? You are still going to slow down, thus saving lives. The police chief is upset about the loss of revenue generated by the traps.

It's DC.  What do you expect?  That's pretty much what every comment below the article says too.

I was using the article more to point out the ap.  Not sure if it is specifically designed for the DC area, or if it's a nationwide thing.  Wouldn't be very good unless you were in KC.  I assume they have some traffic ticket cameras there.

UPDATE:  (mainly to stevedave)

The Tour is everything I dreamed of and more.  Internet is insanely fast.  Keyboard is great.  Trackball works amazing.  Display is the best I have ever seen on a phone.  Lots of cool apps from Blackberry available.  Pretty light.  Great camera.  Honestly, the best phone I have ever had (and I work at Verizon so I have played with a crap ton of phones)

Not sure how the Tour will be on Sprint if that's what you have.  Speeds should be comparable (only will be able to use it about 1/4 of the places tho)  Lol at Sprint.  No offense Sprint users......they are pretty cheap so I understand.

LOL, Sprint has the "Most reliable network" in 6 of 13 cities that they tested.  Whereas Verizon (which includes Alltel) leads in the Northeast, MidAtlantic, West, Southwest, North Central, and Southeast Regions.  I think there are more than 13 cities in those regions.......not positive tho.

So Sprint rates first in one test and second in another and it's a bad network? LOL. Someone is getting sensitive about their awesome job at Verizon.

Well, most of us don't live in any of those regions.  So I'll stick with sprint.

The Stupidest App Store Incident Yet: Apple Censors a Dictionary
By matt buchanan, 10:40 AM on Wed Aug 5 2009, 4,856 views

Honestly, I didn't think the App Store's approval policies could get any worse. But Apple continues to amaze in what's undoubtedly the stupidest incident yet: Even after they gave the Ninjawords dictionary a 17+ rating, they censored it. A dictionary.

Gruber recounts the entire three-month odyssey, which began with developer Phil Crosby submitting his app in May. Ninjawords' dictionary was rejected for objectionable content, with a screenshots of the words "&@#%" and "crap" in the search results. The thing is, Ninjawords is designed so you have to explicitly search for them—typing "shi" won't bring up crap, even though other dictionaries in the store will do just that. A third submission, with the bad words like "screw" and "snatch" filtered, had them rejected again—"cvnt" slipped past their filter—with Apple telling the developer it would have to be rated 17+ to get approved, no matter what.

Adding insult to injury, when the developer decided to give in, censoring their dictionary and taking the 17+ rating, Apple wouldn't let them simply change the metadata to have a rating, they had to resubmit the entire app code, sending them to the back of the queue for approval. Apple didn't just gut a dictionary, they stomped on the developers throughout the entire contradictory approval process that had let through other dictionaries which even more "objectionable."

Gruber sums it up best: "Apple requires you to be 17 years or older to purchase a censored dictionary that omits half the words Steve Jobs uses every day."

I think it can be said that the App Store is actually making us dumber now.
