Damn that's awful.  The orange is driving me crazy, too.

My favorite is Bookcat's logo, followed by the second-place finisher with the apple incorporated into the hills.  (That's hills, not mountains.)

As a graphic designer who submitted to that contest I can tell you those logos are a joke, not just for aesthetics but for technical reasons. It is really sad what they have done.

I am wondering what program was used to make that design, because it looks like its straight out of 1985.

Trust me, people who know Graphic Design love my logo.  I have a friend who works in NYC as a copywriter who gave it a huge thumbs up.  In fact she said her company might hire me to do some freelance work for some of their clients in Middle America.

I know rite.  Crazy that this makes me so mad.  I mean, this is what big time people (recruits, new bio-terror facility employees, etc.) will see when they get to Manhattan.  I would feel much better if it was on a huge f^cking billboard between Manhattan and Ogden (other side of airport).

Copperplate Gothic  is a great font.  I use it all the time along with Papyrus and Comic Sans (when I am going for the whimsical feel that works well in small town America).

Well for starters they don't take advantage of color.  Also the jets are completely unrealistic looking.  They look like something from webdings.

Too many letters as well.  You must be concise on a logo, like many of my award winning ones.

Those are not mountains.  They are the Flint Hills in late spring.  It's called an abstraction.  An abstract hill is a triangle in the simplest geometry.

Those are not mountains.  They are the Flint Hills in late spring.  It's called an abstraction.  An abstract hill is a triangle in the simplest geometry.

The realistic sideways plane suggests a realistic depiction in general.

MHK is the friendly airport, and I like to think I contributed to that.
