I second that. Relentless assault of hilarity from opening to closing credits.

Hands down:

This scene goes as follows (this off the top of my head)

"Tell me again Sir Bedever, how sheep's bladders can be deployed to help prevent earthquakes"
"Camelot!!!!" "Camelot!!" "Camelot!"
cue nights of camelot dancing and singing scene
"On second thought, maybe we shouldn't go to camelot, tis a silly place"

It has to be "on the list" for anyone who appreciates even the broadest definition of the genre of "comedy."

If you have zero appreciation for it, then you are likely a boring dolt, and if you worship it without reservation, then you are likely a tool.

all M. Python movies are incredible, but this one is the best for sure.

The only movie that competes with Holy Grail in my opinion for best comedy is Blazing Saddles.

Are u watching family guy? The reason I started this thread is b/c they made a monty python & holy grain reference. Then they made a Blazing Saddles reference in the same episode. I then remembered how excellent of a movie it is too

I saw that epi, also.

Pretty much anything Monty Python or Mel Brooks is solid gold.

I saw Mel Brooks' play "producers" or whatever in NYC about 6 years ago. Pretty much the most LMAOiest thing i'd ever witnessed.

    warm up the EMAW

Over quoted by douche bags.  We are all probably a little bit overwhelmed (or weirdly over-obsessed likely previously mentioned Monty Python-philes and Dane Cook lovers) with the saturation, but holy sh1t what a complete comedic performance.  Has three comedic geniuses, well casted female lead and excellent cameos and minor characters.  The dialogue is all unbelievably good without breaking the plot and the plot twists and diversions are all hilarious and somehow over-the-top yet never ruin the movie.

You could see things really coming together with Old School and you wonder what this movie might have been like if they had Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson as the co-stars.  I don't think it works at all.  Just a great script and great execution from everyone.  Maybe if Vince had replaced Champ Kind as a fast talking neurotic?

There haven't been any really funny movies released since about 1989.

What's funny is I didn't like it at all the first time that I saw it.

Against it? I should be positively astounded to hear anything that could be said FOR it. Why the whole bloody place is the most unspeakable matriarchy in the whole history of civilization! Look at yourself! The way your wife and her strumpet of a mother push you through the hoop! As far as I can see, American men have been totally emasculated- they're like slaves! They die like flies from coronary thrombosis while their women sit under hairdryers eating chocolates & arranging for every 2nd Tuesday to be some sort of Mother's Day! And this infantile preoccupation with bosoms. In all time in this Godforsaken country, the one thing that has appalled me most of all this this prepostrous preoccupation with bosoms. Don't you realize they have become the dominant theme in American culture: in literature, advertising and all fields of entertainment and everything. I'll wager you anything you like that if American women stopped wearing brassieres, your whole national economy would collapse overnight.

Monty Python has put out a couple thousand movies and skits. A couple are bound to be good. And that's about it.
