If you're bored...

Since it's the off-season and not much is going on, my mind has been racing.  I humbly expect to completely fix college football, and think I have come up with some ideas that could work -- even if it'd be impossible for all the powers-that-be to sign off on it.

Anyway, I created a blog that details my thoughts: http://fixcollegefootball.blogspot.com/  Be sure to read from the first post (on the bottom).  Please let me know what you think -- good or bad -- either in the comments or in this thread.  Warning: it's kind of long, unconventional, and fairly complicated -- certainly a bit of a departure from the norm -- so it might take a while to digest it all.  But I'm curious about everyone's thoughts.  Please spread the word if you like it.

Am I crazy, or does it make sense?

If it seems to make sense to most, I may try to spread the word.  But I wanted to share with fellow K-Staters first (but keep in mind that what's good for college football, at least in my mind, might not necessarily be good for K-State -- at least the state our program is in right now  :'( ).  Don't know why I'm all ambitious about this, but I guess I'm just enough of a dreamer to hold onto some hope.  I've never really heard a playoff proposal this comprehensive, or structured anything near like this.

Thanks in advance.

I did read it all and am impressed by your idea, but theirs simply too much change that needs to happen for your plan to work. Love the perspective though.

    The very best.
pretty good, i like 12 teams as well. think that's the perfect spot.

6 auto bids (conf. champs)
2 auto bids to mid-majors  (4 byes will come from these 6 teams, have a committee select them)
4 at-large slots (these teams will play the first round on the road)

higher seeds host untill the finals.

the problem? it destroys the bowl system. and that IS a legit problem. the bowls have tradition, hard to break that.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

So what's the word on the whole BCS vs. the government hearing that happened like 2 months ago- has anything happened since then?
