Any ku fan that can start out on this board at 3 in the afternoon, and still be hanging out at midnight . . . is completely obsessed.

Bentard simply not dealing with the reality of his obsession with all things K-State.

The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem Ben.

Thousands of posts, multiple socks, numerous meltdowns, chiming in on threads that have not one hint in them about ku or other schools . . . the signs are clearly there.

Sad . . .

And one that makes two accounts and deletes one after 1000 posts to show he is not obsessed.

Bentard the master of meltdowns talking about anyone melting down, that's some funny stuff there.

Isn't it time for a another "poll" Ben . . . you know, maybe some reaffirmation and such??

Bentard always . . .  :jayhook:

    The very best.
How are those new basketball facilities coming along, 'Pad?

about as well as your face.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

So construction might finally start around 2021, after Prince's buyout money is finally paid?

These threads are getting kind of tiresome. Dax just keeps letting them go on, and Ben just needs inspiration.

About the same place as that new outdoor track and Olympic "sports park" at ku Ben.

Still on the drawing board.

I figure K-State's got another 2 years . . . it took ku 6.5 years from the first serious proposal on a new football facility to make it a reality (and frankly more like about 16-18 years, but I know how that screws with Bentards reality), and they're at least 2.5 to 3 years and counting from the inception of the original plans for the Olympic Sports park at ku, and by the sounds of it at least 24-36 months from actually moving dirt for those NASCAR steel stands.  So that will have been about a 6 to 7 year process on that project at ku.   It took ku 12 years to get the new weightroom Glen Mason asked for in 1992.   The only reason ku moved so quickly on the Allen Fieldhouse Renovations (some of which are DECADES over due) is because Lew had to do that in order to keep Self, and so that's why Lew ran out and borrowed $31 million bucks to make it happen.

Now there's some serious invalidation from the one and only 'Pad.

First of all, Lew Perkins has only been at ku since '03.  There's no denying the lack of support for any athletic program besides men's basketball for the better part of the 20th century.  Since Perkins took over, ku athletics has doubled its athletic budget from approx. $27 million to $55 million.  Second, ku renovated Allen Fieldhouse and added on an entire hall of athletics in '06.  The latest $55 million in renovations is going towards basketball facilities as well as further modernizing Allen Fieldhouse and incorporating it in with the rest of the athletic facilities surrounding it.  ku just completed a $31 million football facility that's regarded as one of the best and most modern in the country.  Keep in mind that ku built an $8 million, 42,000 sq. ft. strength and conditioning center in '02 (which is nicer than anything K-State currently has).  Also, ku just completed a multi-million dollar clubhouse for the baseball program.  The Jayhawk Towers are currently undergoing millions in renovations.  The olympic sports complex is basically the final step in completing ku's athletic village.  All of this will happen within a 5-6 year period.  Pretty amazing, really.  Oh, and did I mention that Lew Perkins was Time magazine's Sports Executive of the Year for '08?  How about the fact that under Perkins, ku became only the 2nd school in NCAA history to win a BCS Bowl and National Championship in the same year?

Meanwhile, K-State is struggling to do much of anything as far as athletic facilities go.  Forced into a desperation fire/hire after "52-21," K-State is now going to have to find a way to pay millions they don't have for Ron Prince's buyout.  K-State has been talking about these basketball facilities since Huggins took over... a solid two years or so before ku, and the funny thing is that ku is damn near finished with construction.  Keep spinning away, 'Pad.  I'm sure at some point someone will actually believe your invalidating garbage.

LOL at Bentard . . . a typical response.

Once again and for the last time.  K-State didn't need to build a new football complex, they already had one, which just got a $10 million dollar top to bottom renovation. (congrats to ku for literally being decades behind K-State on that).  Glen Mason asked for football only facilities back in the 1990's.  When he was told that wasn't possible he asked for a new weightroom . . . and in 2002 it opened . . . after ku athletics got one donation from Dana Anderson and borrowed another $4 million from the ku Foundation.

K-State put in Larger HD Videoboards Four Years ago . . . ku just now getting them in Memorial Stadium.  ku behind K-State again.

Wow, renovating a fieldhouse that was at least 20 years past due on significant renovations . . . amazing.  Lew Borrowed another $31 million dollars to do that.

ku built a new crewhouse and opened it 4 years after K-State built a new crewhouse . . . Lew Perkins Stole $6 million dollars worth of student fees to build that facility.  K-State privately funded its new crewhouse.

K-State fully renovated it's indoor baseball practice facility 4 years ago . . . ku finally opened dedicated indoor batting cages about 6 months ago, but unlike K-State if it wants to practice infield play or anything significant it must go share the anschutz facility.   K-State baseball doesn't have to do that.   ku way behind k-State again.

K-State built a dedicated outdoor track in 1973, and it got a $3 million dollar renovation 3 years ago . . . ku has a $6.8 million dollar net new facility replete with NASCAR steel stands still on the drawing board.   ku decades behind K-State yet again.

ku built a new football facility using money from a criminal, drove Dana Anderson into the poor house, and borrowed $6 million from another ku alumni.

K-State Football Dedicated Indoor Practice Facility-Field Turf, 138 yards long and 80 yards wide.   ku football dedicated indoor practice facility . . . . NONE.  ku way behind K-State again.

K-State installed FieldTurf in 2001 . . . ku in 2009.  ku way behind K-State again.

Again, a lot has changed with ku athletics since Perkins took over in 2003.  It's 2009.... we're talking modern upgrades to facilities.  ku has had a track at Memorial Stadium forever... we're updgrading and relocating to a more modern athletic village.  I don't care what K-State built back in the 70's.  I've seen K-State's facilities, and quite frankly, they pale in comparison to ku's.  Like I said, new football complex, strength and conditioning center, basketball facilities, AFH renovations, baseball clubhouse, Olympic sports complex, softball facilities, volleyball facilities, etc, etc, all within a 5-6 year period.  Meanwhile, K-State's still trying to figure out how to pay for Ron Prince's multi-million dollar buyout.

"Modern Facilities" so something built 4 years ago isn't "modern"??   You haven't been inside Vanier since it was renovated, and K-State has things ku doesn't even have . . . you been inside the stadium club at memorial stadium . . . you know the doublewide down in the endzone?  ku's dedicated indoor football facility is better than K-State's . . . out there in someones mind.

Again, you don't have to build stuff you've already got, so the money comparison is just dumb.

K-State track and field with new offices, dressing rooms and meeting rooms 4 years ago . . . woeful ku track just now getting them.  ku way behind K-State again.

K-State volleyball with totally renovated offices, team room, and dressing room 4 years ago . . . ku volleyball just now getting them.  ku way behind K-State again.

Ever heard of the Anschutz Sports Pavilion or the Parrot Athletic Center?  ku has an indoor football field and indoor track complex, along with a bunch of coach's offices.  Everything's currently being upgraded right now along with the AFH renovations.  They're adding a bunch of new offices and learning areas to the outside of the Anderson Strength & Conditioning Center.  Oh, and if you want to keep pulling all of this "ku is behind K-State" bullsh*t, K-State volleyball must be behind ku then, because ku built the $4 million Horejsi Family Athletic Center in '99.  Someone needs to check their facts because you're obviously clueless as to what's going on at ku.

Seriously, just stop pretending like K-State's athletic department is going toe-to-toe with Lew Perkins and ku.  By the time your joke of an athletic department finds a way to pay off Ron Prince (who you fired mostly because of "52-21"), ku will have completed an athletic village within a 6-7 year period.  Your consistent denial and attempt to invalidate any and all things ku continues to amaze me, 'Pad.

Why would K-State Volleyball need to build a little bandbox like Horjesi when K-State volleyball has 5,000 seats available to it in Ahearn Fieldhouse??  Which just got a new indoor track installed in it and a new volleyball court installed in it.

Yeah, yeah, the multipurpose, multisport carpet burn pavilion.   Ask any football player if they'd like to practice indoors on a portable old school astro turf field with no padding underneath, or on a brand new, permanently installed field turf field inside a facility that has a ceiling so high you can actually practice the entire kicking game.

Hey new offices and dressing rooms for sports teams at ku that have never had them (many of them having to use a big old high school gym style locker rooms before) . . . congrats.

When is ku going to do something about the crapty bleachers/pleather seats in the endzone?  I thought those were just temporary?  Are they keeping them another year?  Those things are embarassing.  Can't they build more suites?
