i personally thought anderson was better than colon. however that is very debatable. if colon starts of kelly or wally i'll be furious.
Anderson had much more talent than Colon IMO. But Colon was and always has been "fully bought in" to Frank's system, I'm not sure that was always the case with Ron and probably a big reason why he left.
But starting those guys was really insignificant. It was pretty clear he just used a 4 man rotation at the 4/5 spots with all those guys getting about the same amount of minutes on average and the "hot hand" getting more minutes depending on how they were playing, etc, with Kent and to a lesser extent Samuels coming out on top.
Kent 23 MPG
Samuels 20 MPG
Colon 18 MPG
Anderson 18 MPG
I would expect to see something similar this year, with the goal being Judge eventually progressing to maybe 25 MPG. Kelly is a bit of a wildcard, but I'd guess he and Colon getting around the same as Colon and Anderson b/c Frank will want to keep the big bodies fresh. Then Samuels about the same; if he gets some minutes at the 3 at times depending on match-ups maybe approaching 25 MPG or so.
Henriquez is hard to figure, but if he gets over 7-8 MPG I'll be very surprised.
Its pretty clear to see why Anderson left when looking at that; he probably saw the writing on the wall. He seemed to be in and out of Frank's doghouse with the most fluctuation in minutes and seemed to struggle buying in completely to what Frank was selling. With 3 more bigs coming in and only 1 leaving, I'm sure his perception was that his minutes would be the ones to decrease (whether that is reality or not) and he bolted.
