One by one, names of A.D.'s from non-BCS also-ran universities are trotted out, and one by one they get shot down.

How the frack is some joker from these collections of commuter, directional, or back woods state schools (or all of the above) suppose to go toe-toe with Lew Perkins...let alone those crafty east-coast elite types that run the networks (NOT a "Jew" joke, I love jews, FWIW).

Honestly, is anyone else concerned about the notion of KSU continuing on in the same fashion that it has been for the last decade?  I am.  You know what is worse than that?  It could get worse....much worse.

In closing, frack you JW, YOU should be paying the Ron Prince severance, Tim Weiser severance, and Miami/Va Tech/UCLA/Auburn buyouts out of your own fracking pocket.  Legacy off.

Very mixed feeling on Schemmies . . . long history at a Big 10 school, a major university foundation thought enough of him to bring him in as one of their top dogs for a while, somewhat impressed with SDSU's revenue numbers given their commuter stature, he swung for the fences with Chuck Long . . . but on the flip side still plenty of ???'s if he's up for the task.

I'd say the assistant AD from NU, who is also a K-State alumnus would be a better fit, because he's got Big 12 ties, and was also at Pitt when they did a whole bunch of very big time facilities projects and such.

Schemmel is a K-State grad, and he worked as an administrator there from 1998-91. He also has a law degree from Washburn.

Damn Flux Capasitor.
So, somehow, because you logged onto a message board, and read a quote that another guy wrote about Wefald, Wefald is "in your face?"  I'll go along with that.  I wish Hemmingway would get off my nuts.

Does K State have some sort of like, Athletics Department Recycling Center, where they send the guys that they are fed up with to be recycled to be used again? I mean, can't you guys hire someone that HASN'T worked here, retired, and then decided to come back because their retirement checks are basically bushels of beets and wheat?

Sorry bra. As much a I hate on this place at times, I have no ill feelings towards K State in general. I DO remember the days when people would say they were K State football fans and ku basketball. Before ku renovated everything. This is not a post about hating on you guys. it's actually the opposite. I DO want to see K State have much success. I DO want competition in the State again. It would be better for both ku and K State (I know, that's blasphemous and all, but forgive me) The problem isn't the fans and the supporters, the problem is completely the administration at K State. By revibing the Athletics Department, K state would bring in the  revenue that is so desperately needed. It would make recruits in-state look in-state more. Hell, it would make recruits look in-state in general. Think of Texas and Texas A&M years ago. I hope for your school to do it, but the administration needs to have a foot shoved up their ass to get their brains working.

Seriously . . . just because there's a relatively small number of ku alums working as senior administrators in Division 1 athletics, no need to take it out on us fanatic.

What's his background?  Just the fact that he's the assistant AD at TN qulifies him in my book.

fwiw Dodds is a big fan of Schemmel (early & often).  If Meeks/J-Mart have anything to add process/timeline-wise that would be awesome.

KSU Athletic Director...Do we deserve better than this?

no we do not.  we have a horrible, insipid fanbase.  we lack focus and rational priorities.  if it wasn't for the federal govt, american eagle and frank martin taking pity on our poor benighted town we'd have nothing.

any of these candidates would be far more than we deserve.

Well I will agree that if you use the powertards as your benchmark . . . we have the least demanding fanbase in all of Division One college athletics.

Marc Boehm. He graduated from K-State in 1984 and currently serves as the second-in-command to Tom Osborne at NU. Boehm is a former executive with the Fiesta Bowl, and he was the interim AD who hired Jamie Dixon at Pitt. Boehm currently oversees the men's and women's basketball programs at Nebraska, so he's got the Doc Sadler connection working for him. Most of all, he's a Big 12 guy who would have a good grasp on the challenges facing K-State

Ok.  I strongly desire this man.

Time for a Cabela's Gift Card.

Meek is at least trying (though no new info)

Best part imo -

More later, perhaps.

Meek's got a pretty solid bio on there

My bio:
I joined the Capital-Journal sports staff in 2006 as a K-State correspondent, meaning I was able to chronicle the Ron Prince era from beginning to end. Easily my proudest career accomplishment to this point.

I took over the K-State beat in October 2007. My work has not been honored by any recognized journalistic organization, though I did win a spelling bee, once.

My wife, Melody, is an architect. As Herm Edwards used to say, I wasn't born at night. We live happily in Kansas City with our dog, Ellie.

Bruce's outfit

what I would give for a purple velour sweat suit to pimp at ksu games and some white adidas with purple stripes - hello, 1986 called they want their wardrobe back! But it would still be awesome!
