Agreed.   second year Buchi's are better than first year Buchi's.  Unless you are upgrading talent significantly, keep the experienced player.

this.  it'd be one thing if we were making room for Born Ready.  we aren't. we're, apprently, making room for Irving.  Seriously. How terrible of trade is that.  We just lost 2 guys that can/have shot >40% from 3.  If both of them are gone, we have exactly one person who shot above 35% from 3 last year (Clemente).

I don't think we were intentionally "making room" for anyone.  I just think Frank/staff ticked a couple guys off and then were unable to rerecruit them.  Or these guys started talking/looking into tranfering and Frank showed them the door.  I'd love to believe these theories that we really thought we were going to replace players with better players so we forced them out, but I think that is a ksufans.com dream.  I just think we're seeing attrition and turnover that programs sometimes have.  IMO, at least its at best role players and not key guys/starters that really kill you when they leave.  Granted, if you continually have 2-3 guys leaving every couple years it becomes problematic, but I'm willing at this point to count this one as Frank/staff growing into program management.

Regardless of whether it's making room or players leaving....there's a reason....and if frank's taybron'ing fred, while at the same time letting/forcing awaji go, then it's bad roster management.  ron leaving i'm fine with, we're "replacing" him with curtis kelly or judge, so upgrade.  awaji/fred leaving....?  we're replacing them with irving. even at best.  and now couple that with their mid-major '10 and '11 recruiting.....

Not from what I've read.  I have higher hopes for Spradling actually (doing well, not getting more stars).

He's a Trops guy iirc.

no.  i think he played for the florida future.

the tropics are really not doing well lately.  seems like they might have some decent '11s and '12s, but their '08s, '09s and '10s have not been worthy of an upper echelon program.

I don't know why they don't have him recruit Lat Will since they played on the same AAU team.

Man, Buchi was really coming on down the stretch. I think he was gonna be a player this year.

I disagree. I'm more of the opinion that Buchi was gonna be a player this year and he was really coming on down the stretch. (In that order)

Aside from three point shooting, Buchi seemed to be a much more complete player than Fred. Defensively he was pretty solid and seemed to be able to create more (and finish) on the offensive end. I've heard things about Fred's ability to create, he just can't seem to accomplish it in games.
