i'll hopefully (maybe) get to go somewhere later this summer. not sure yet though.  only really been out of the us 3 times and all to the same place, but it's pretty much my most favorite place that i've ever been (that's not saying much though obviously). thinking about maybe going somewhere else this time.

any suggestions here?

kinda need a beach. if no beach suggestions then maybe post a pic of the most favorite place you've been or where you would want to go. also, phuket is not an option here. here is mine. negril is divided up into two parts...beach and cliff. the cliffs are way past fantastic, cheap, laid back, etc. have always stayed here.

I really liked the Yukon.  No crowds on the beach (if you don't count the bears).

I've heard Turkey is inexpensive.  Unlike Italy.

depends on what you want to do. shop/sightsee or truly get away.
the place i was just at in mexico isn't on a map, there's a small village nearby but the wealth of my time was spent looking at the ocean and sipping mezcal.  this, for me, was the first real vaca i've taken in a long time where i turned off my phone, internets, television, etc and really got away.  was nice and is my new fav vaca type.

also- for a late summer/fall vaca you should consider the UCLA game in Cali.

also- if you want to leave US and go somewhere affordable with beaches & BABES, hit up Uruguay.

have a couple of friends who swear by this place too. must be really, really, nice/fun.

unfortunately it sounds expensive and time consuming to fly to which is a problem for me since i am poor and can not take a long vacation. max vacation time including flying to and from is prob only like five days or so.  :frown:

yes. want the vacation you described. place i showed in my pic is sweet because they don't even have tv's or phones. the first time we went there i found out that snyder had quit and coached his last game on our drive back from the airport. was all like "wtf, thought that guy would coach until he was 80".

need to go somewhere in july or early aug. sept won't work.

uruguay sounds intriguing. hadn't thought about it. have thought about and researched belize. is uruguay better?

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

place is called xtabi. this is their website...
http://xtabi-negril.com/

this website is better for pics. also has fantastic pics of most hotels in negril and even divides up the beach vs the cliffs. rockhouse is right next to xtabi and a littler nicer/newer and the best place on the beach is seasplash imo...

http://www.negrilonestop.com/xtabi_photos.shtml

rockhouse----- http://www.negrilonestop.com/rockhouse_photos.shtml
seasplash----- http://www.negrilonestop.com/seasplash_photos.shtml

you can stay in a cottage for like 100 or so and stay on the other side of the street for less than 50. gotta kinda negot it down though. amazing cheap food places within walking distance. cottages have refrig, stove, bed upstairs.  also the showers are private but technically outside and the walls only come up to your shoulders. the last time i was there i was in the middle of a shower and had a guy try to sell me every thing imaginable. i was like "gmafb man, i'm washing my balls here". love that place. would marry it.

yeah, i just mapquested this hawaii place. it is really far away. plus it sounds dangerous/shady. don't really want to go to some third world country. i'll prob just stay in the united states or maybe go to mexico.

you can come visit me.

no beach.  have a spare cot.  very cheap.  will buy you a juice to celebrate your arrival.

colorado  :dunno:

Colorado is the perfect family vacation destination.  When I was little and we went on summer vacation to CO instead of Disneyworld or wherever were actually just the years my parents prolly said, "GMAFB, let's go somewhere cheap!"  Lucky for them I didn't realize at the time how hard I was getting screwed.

colorado is nice, especially southwest colorado. lived in the springs for a year. got to travel all over the state. no beach though and the native coloradoans are all pretty much losers.

will prob do somewhere in mexico i guess. if i die from the swine thing, please award all my account points, money due, awards, etc. to limestone outcropping. thanks.

Grand Cayman Islands

would be amazing. so would curacao imo. both look v elite. but i've spent a lot of time searching flights and stuff since yesterday and have come to the realization that it basically has to be mexico. i'm using american airline miles for free flights and have to fly out of wichita. if i want to go to grand cayman it looks like this...

1755 7:00 AM
ICT 8:15 AM
DFW
3237 9:50 AM
DFW 1:10 PM
TLH
4449 2:20 PM
TLH 3:45 PM
MIA
1011
Flight Details 7:40 PM
MIA 8:05 PM
GCM
Terminal change

flight back is just as bad. it doesn't bother me, but i don't have an unlimited amount of days and to spend two days of a six day vacation in planes just doesn't make sense. unless your fff.

ya it's pretty arid.  wouldn't really call it desert but it's certainly very dry and wouldn't think you could do much with it- lots of uneven terrain and really thick brush.  saw a plantain farm about 30 minutes north but it had installed irrigation equipment, that's the only green I saw around there.

You should try a cruise. Never been on one hear they are very cheap now a days.
