The little red guy in the front (Scooter) is the robot equivalent of Snarf from Thundercats.

our (manhattan kansas woodrow wilson elementary school four graders) theory was that the gobot company caught wind of what the transformer company was coming up with a hurried a less exciting/lamer version into production with the hopes that getting to market sooner would overcome their inferior product.

gobots were lame0city guys. sorry.

True story:  Had a gobot train guy.  Totally told my bros in 2nd grade or whatever that it was the younger cousin of the transformer train guy.  Got called out on it but stuck to my guns.  I had a weird collection of he-man/gobot/transformer/gi joe/mask all piled into one big box.  Epic battles would ensue in my basement on a weekly basis.

Another thing.  All gobots could shoot lasers out of their fists.  They didn't even have guns.  Super lame.

Yes, very plausible.

Agreed on trains.  Why the frack would it be cool to make a train robot?  May as well make a cotton gyn Robot or a horse drawm carriage robot while you're at it.

No man.... That is just better technology!

Gimme a break.... The leader of the decepticons couldn't even be productive when he transformed.  He had to have a big tape player shoot him off.

Yeah, that was f^cked up.  I was wondering how they would get around that in the live action movie.  Could move just ignoring it and pretending like it never happened imo.

Were you aware they were lame when you were a kid?  Of course.  Did you still have fun playing with them?  Hell yes.  I'm not sure I had any.  I was thinking about the circular, green dude with the red head that popped up, but now I think that was a Transformer.  Time for me to exit this thread.

WTF was up with this transformer being like 9 times the size of the other ones, made it worthless to play with imo...

Wondering who is running this hot dog stand and seriously considering heading out for tacos.

Gobots??  More like GAYBOTS right fellas?

Seriously, nobody cool ever played with Gobots, it was Transformers or else.  Playing with that crap was like choosing Mega Blocks instead of Legos.  GMAFB Gobots

My 5 year old son found my old transformers and gobots at my parents house this last weekend.  We had fun with them but most of the autobots are missing wheels and some doors.

Star scream was missing a wing, but I had all the guns but the spring that shot the missles didn't work too well.  The Dinobots were in great condition.

Didn't have the patience to do that with the big ones.  Had one that all he did was flip his legs back over his shoulders and he was a car/plane/boat.  Supposedly you could pull him back in vehicle mode and a spring would drive him and would eventually trip a switch that would flip him up to standing.  That lasted about a month before it only flipped him halfway to landing on his back.  Eventually it stopped working all together.

Had 3 or 4 of those sets that put 5 together to make one big robot that always fell apart really easy.

The worst one I had was really late in their run.  He was supposedly a dude in a robot suit.  You took his helmet off and his body split in two only to reveal a robot scorpion.  WTF?  That was lame as the "Headmasters" who had the big robots whose heads came off and transformed into little robots.

Had plenty of Gobots, too, but they broke too easy.  Had that black uFO one that was mentioned earlier.  I was pissed when they made that one and that F1 racecar of the bad guys girlbots on the cartoon.
