long time reader, first time poster.  since it is THE BIG Game this week, I thought I'd stop and introduce myself.  i live in Belleville, and will be making my first game away from Memorial stadium this Saturday.  I know the game's at 6, what time to the gates open?  What exactly is Harley Day?  And why do you guys have such a beef with NU?  I thought I'd get your thoughts.  Good luck on Saturday!

Go Big Red!   :)

The gates open 2 hours before kickoff. Harley Day is when 100 or so Harley's circle through the stadium. It started back in 1997. I don't why and I don't really care. Some KSU fans like it, some don't. Most opposing fans like to give us crap about it. Personally, I like it and I'm not really into motorcycles. I'd say more NU fans have a beef with KSU than KSU fans have a beef with NU. That's your fault, not ours. I'd say good luck, but I wouldn't mean it. I hope we send NU home with a loss and I'd revel in it because of all the childish and petty NU fans that are focusing so much on Freeman.

Hey SkerinKansas, As you take in the smack you perceive as "KSU beef with NU" I hope you slowly realize that you are on a KSU Fan board. Now think hard here cause I got a question for ya.......Why would you perceive it as KSU having the beef with NU when you are the visitor here? Seems like the opposite would be true.

We enjoy the game, we enjoy a little smack, but these topics have gone to hell this week do to our so called visitors from the north. Why don't you start a new Sker trend and bring a legit topic. Your in Kansas now so hopefully a little respectability has rubbed off on you.

Go State!

Thanks to Java on the info.  I'm looking forward to the game atmosphere.  Like I said, I've never been to a game away from Lincoln, so this could be an "eye-opener"

As for the "Beef with NU" comment, perhaps I should correct myself.  I'm in constant communication with many Cat fans.  Whenever the topic of football comes up, I instantly become the bad guy, just because I'm a Husker fan.  I don't have to mention anything about NU, the FB team, Callahan, Solich or anything, yet I get read a riot act about how "bad' NU is.  I don't know if it's a specific event/ game that occured that has cuased these feelings, or just years of the series being so one sided, while recent history has reveresed the trend.  Anyway, it wasn't menat to stir something up other than good conversation about the game.

As for the Berringer thread, i must say I really disagree with your view of Brook.  I met him a couple of times, and never saw the "prick' side of him that some of you have mentioned.  I'm not sure why he was mentioned in these boards, it's not an anniversary of anything that has to do with KSU, other than he's from Goodland.  Nebraska remembers him fondly, as do i.
