Why must everyone log in to view any board now?  I saw the question was asked on the Technical Support board (or whatever it's called) a while ago, but there was no answer.  Would seem to cut down on board traffic in a bad way.  Just wondering why the change...

forcing people to register allows us to monitor board traffic more accurately, this change was implemented when TP launched the premium service and aligned the site with ESPN.

And to market directly when the time for that comes.  There's no money for TP in anonymous readers.

With ads here or blind advertising elsewhere you can.  I presumed that TP would prefer to spend his advertising funds in higher-probability targeted advertising.  Registration is a nice way to obtain a working validated email (from the non-anal) and thus a nice way to build a database of intersted parties to which one might consider directing advertising.  My apologies for presuming intelligence on the part of those operating this site, I won't make the same mistake in the future.
