"Missouri, their staff was recruiting me, but Coach (Mike) Anderson hadn't seen me play," Dixon said. "I don't think he head seen me play, I think he had seen highlights, but he hadn't seen me play, himself. He wasn't recruiting me, it was more like his staff, the assistant coaches and everyone was calling me and trying to get me on the phone. My parents talked to them. They wanted them to bring me out. But he hadn't seen me play, he wasn't recruiting me, so I didn't feel comfortable going to a situation like that."
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

"Unless you're a ku fan you don't want to watch a game at the fieldhouse. You'll never see more home cooking in your life. The last game I watched there Larry got the boot and I didn't blame him a bit. Only ball game I've ever walked out on in my life, besides, the facility is a piece of ****."

Dewitt has some really good offers, but it seems to me that Mizzou isn't doing to well on capitalizing on last year's success.

Coach Anderson was pretty lucky to have Carroll and Lyons.  Carroll is his nephew and transferred from Vanderbilt.  Lyons wanted to sign with Kentucky out of high school and his mom made him sign with Mizzou.  Coach Anderson's going to need to step it up on the recruiting trail if he wants to make it back to the Elite Eight.

this 'mom/parents made him play there' thing seems v. popular with UM and uk. I suppose their main idea is that they want to watch them play college ball considering that will be the end of the road 4 them. :scared:
