fact- joe bob hung out drinking at rab all sat night. it's like he never left.

rumor- was told this by two different people over the weekend. don't personally believe it, but figured i'd share... apparently the khhzht/ucla game this year isn't actually 100% go. heard that espn was somehow involved in trying to get someone other than our mighty wyldkathx to go play ucla. don't believe it but whatev.

I think the UCLA thing is for the following year . . . as the Old Balls pussification of K-State scheduling is currently a strong Category 3, and well on its way to a Category 4.

No doubt many of you will join the powertards in the parking lot to brew it up and get all giddified for a steady stream of Indiana State's, Tennessee Techs and Western Kentucky's.

Why play any BCS schools, that could kill the intrinsic value meter, and ruin EMAW buy in.

nope. the rumor i heard involved the game this year. i was all like "  :bs: "  and then a second person said they had heard similar stuff. still don't believe it but figured i'd pass it along. both people's stories involved espn somehow being involved and them wanting a different team (not us).

Getting pretty late in the game to change any match-ups.  We'd really struggle to find another team to fill that spot.

If so, check Category 4, the Bill Snyder pussification of KSU football is headed straight to a Category 5.

But remember . . . OB likes to "stair step" into the conference schedule . . . by rolling out what will hopefully turn into 4 glorified practices . . . why play a team that might be good, K-State could lose and damage EMAW esteem.

Hey ESPN, way to hire Herm E. for draft coverage.

That's like hiring Huskerpride to write anything or find a pretty girl.

Why should you?  The formula has been proven - beat 4 cupcakes and catch some breaks in the regular season, and you can get a BCS berth without even playing for your conference championship.

I see absolutely no reason we should ever leave Manhattan, KS for our non-conference schedule.

i never, ever got sick of beating bad football teams fwiw. my perfect season would be thriteen ckkahts wins by and avg of 60 - 3. beating really bad football teams by an insane amount of points was fun. like really fun.

This.

Well, I don't know which was more fun I was at that game that we scored the most points, or won by the biggest margin or something, but I was also there vs. Nubb in 98 and VS USC.

Saul . . . nobody said I have to agree with the Mangina/Snyder formula of trying to backdoor into a BCS bowl.   In the era of 4 OOC games, an early season loss isn't going to keep you out of a BCS bowl, and obviously not out of the CCG . . . so it's absurd to not play at least one quality OOC game every year to get an early gauge on where you stand.

Plus creampuffs aren't dumb . . .  they expect bigger and bigger paydays to be the sacraficial lamb, so Snyder is going to have to go farther and farther down the food chain to try and find games, because the Michigan's of world also have no intention of going on the road in the OOC either and they can outpay K-State early and often.

'02 USC is prolly in my fave 5 of ksu games.

Like the creampuff philosophy, but beating good teams in the non-con is a lot of fun.

I attended both usc games and they were epic.

Personally, I liked Gary Barnett's philosphy when he was at CU: play some bad@ss teams OOC and maybe pull one off - but get that experience and dominate the north - like he did. If you win conf, you are in a BCS... if not you are in the Holiday Bowl or the like. Someone out there in EMAWland tell me that you wouldn't want to spend a December weekend in San Diego.

Nobody says you've even got to do what CU does, but in the era of 4 non-conference games its absurd to not play at least one decent OOC game every season . . . I hear OB is trying to get out of all of K-State's decent OOC games currently scheduled.

This team has NO business playing anyone in the non-con for the next 3-4 years.  I hope the rumor is true.

The plan works.  Work the plan, Bill.

I bet we drop and schedule more Sun Belt teams.  Maybe step up to a few MAC opponents.  Snyder will not go away from his philosophy now.
