You can't be racist and like basketball.
Nice finds:

1.  Cronin, except he's gotta be a thug.
2.  Horn
3.  Christian

I really like Cronin.  I'd probably put him above Jeter on your other list.

I knew you'd like Cronin.  Being an assistant for Pitino and Huggins has to look good on the resume, plus took his team to the Dance his second season and looks to be on the way this year.

Murray State also produced a pretty good coach in Mark Gottfried (Bama).

I also like the staff Cronin's put together - a former Cincy assistant and former Louisville and St. Joe assistant.

I would switch Altman and Hobbs and Jeter and Cronin and I think I'd be right with you.

Actually, Anderson (UAB) should be #2 on the list.  I forgot all about him.

Two questions:

1.  Anderson above Altman?  You must like Nolan's style.
2.  Is UNLV a mid-major?

Yes.  Anderson is high on the list.  My friend who went to Arkansas when they won the NC has a lot of respect for Anderson FWIW.

Don't know about UNLV, but I don't think the coach there will consider coming back to KSU.

I think he would be more serious about it than the Creighton coach.

hobbs is fool's gold.  he is only the 3rd best black coach in the DC area.

of the no names, i like jeter and kennedy more than most of the rest.

The candidate I'd place well above every other I've heard:

Joe Dooley.

Bozeman's record was pretty crappy considering how much he paid his players.

yeah he is actually a pretty bad coach.  but he can recruit like a mf.  ideal assistant coach.

i think i'm actually going to be more dissapointed in who KSU gets as their assistant coaches than i am with who they get as the new head coach.

Don't worry.  I'm sure there will be plenty of disappointment to go around.

this is why there is still a secret corner of my heart that is still a woolite.  firing wooly and hiring some equally mediocre replacement is fool's gold.
