I like how the sheep stopped struggling as soon as it took off. I doubt it was intelligent enough to realize it would fall and die, which leads me to believe it just kind of accepted how &@#%ed it was.

I say CGI all the way, that was a snake and someone dubbed in a sheep.  Or it was all CGI most likely.  How did they know where to set up those cameras?   Not that it couldn't have done that fo realz, just sayin.

Not CGI, the shadowing is perfect, no way someone could make it look that good without an absurd budget & skills

You may be right, dunno, looked to me like the scene of it flying through the cavern the sun is from behind, yet when the shadow shows up on the ground it is from the other direction and casting the shadow behind the bird...I'll have to watch again.
