flights to LAX (airport lingo) are cheap right now bros, time to start planning for the September To Remember, in the Rose Bowl.

Coffman is going to go off on that swiss cheese defense that Screwhisel puts on the field.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

We plan to but will drive over.  It's a little over 500 miles to Pasadena from SE AZ.

I wonder if they still let fans park their vehicles all over the public golf course [Brookside?] adjacent to the Rose Bowl.  I haven't been there since the 1984 Olympics.

I live in the area, and yes you can still park on the golf course.

My brother in law is a bruin fan, and we go to at least one game at the Rose Bowl every year.  I will be at this one for sure, surrounded by bruin fans.

I am thinking I may be able to pay for these with my "No Hassle Groceries" dividends. Looking to possibly sponsor AT LEAST 12-31 other EMAW'rs depending on this quarter's 10-Q. Obviously, there will be free pizza and a taco bar, too.
“My arm gets tired from doing this,” said coach Bill Snyder, waving his arm.

Lafayette is the game to go to.

True cajuns will tell you that there are more great cajun restaurants within a few blocks in Lafayette than there are in all of New Orleans.  Plus, there are a bunch of great spots locally to go fishing for Red Fish.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Real cajuns are 'tarded.  Lafayette is cool, but there's nowhere with better food of any persuasion than New Orleans.

Lafayette= :thumbsup:
New Orleans=  :dancin:
Baton Rouge=Scat 'n' Splooge.   :blindfold:

Booked a $180 RT flight from KC to NOLA for this trip.  The Zydeco breakfast at this place is recommended: http://www.cafedesamis.com/

SW dropped the price of their Friday MCI-LAX flights to $99 this week.  Return flights on Sunday are more expensive.  Frontier and Midwest have been cheaper than Southwest recently for Sunday travel.  You should be able to do it for $260 or less, as pissclams suggested.

If you're thinking about coming to the Lafayette game, I'd recommend flying into Baton Rouge.  You can fly from KCI to Baton Rouge for just about the same price as flying into New Orleans -- just keep your eyes peeled.  However, by that point there will be direct flights from MHK to Baton Rouge (  :dancin: ), so that's even better.    Here's a representation of the Louisiana layout:

[WEST] Lafayette (<--1 hr. apart-->)  Baton Rouge   (<--1 1/2 hrs. apart-->)  New Orleans [EAST]

Of course, if you're planning on partying in New Orleans on Saturday night after the game like you should, just fly into New Orleans.  But if you're going to stay in Lafayette, fly into Baton Rouge.

But whatever you do, DON'T plan on spending Saturday night in Baton Rouge, because it is Topeka without all the excitement.   :frown: :blindfold:

Have you ever been Red Fish fishing?  Seems like fun.

No reason someone with an excess of EMAW can't go to both these 'pakers.

Is there?

I'll probably go to Lafayette (of course) and UCLA, in addition to flying home for Snyder's first game back.

I am going and intend on playing the hayseed stereotype to the hilt.  They love that out there.  Actually, I plan on spreading my hayseed all over that fine state if you know what I'm talking about.  Would love to have a Mike's Hard Lemonade with some of you chaps.  :whistle1:
Here's hoping that Clams is chillin' with someone cool up in that big EMAW in the sky. RIP Clams, RIP.
