Light O-Line

What is the deal with our 270 - 280 lbs o-line.  There is an article on GPC about our new O-line coach and the quote of Unruh and Stringer - 559 lbs between them.....BFD!!!!  That is like 279.5 apiece.  Why are our linemen so small!!!  How the hell can Stringer not put on ANY significant weight since his freshman year?  He has been listed at 271 for four years.......  aaaarrrggghhhhh.

Remember in the heart of the DoD when we had like the 3rd largest O-Line in the NFL.  O-linemen don't need to move fast, they need to be enormous.

Snyder always had huge O-lines (Jacox, R. Young, Weiner, etc...) and now our O-line is going to average like 285 across the line.  Have you seen the roster.  It is piss poor.  Our D-Line is bigger!   Why the frack can't these dudes put on some weight?  When Snyder took over again he should have made a standing order that every single o-lineman had to put on 10-15 pounds of muscle/training table weight.  I just don't get it.  Am I making too much of this?

No.  And it is a factor this year.   The fact our O-Line does not have good weight shows the lack of recruiting.   Don't expect it to get much better over the next few years.

Just wait until the fall roster comes out.  It will show all these guys 300 pounds across the front.  Partially because guys have gotten bigger and partially because Snyder will fudge heights and weights to the upside just like 90% of the schools out there do.

Snyder added, "Charlie wouldn't want me telling the story, but..."

Snyder continued.

"One of the youngsters in the program under his guidance is vastly overweight and Charlie, I see him come in here at 6 a.m. every morning and he goes downstairs and gets him on the treadmill," Snyder recalled. "I know Charlie has lost 40 pounds, so I don't know how much the youngster has lost, probably 20 pounds right now. That tells you a little something about him."

Dickey wasn't available to comment for this report, but Stringer believes the offensive line continues to make strides in adjusting to the new system.

qft. think about how much time he spent on the east coast during his career prior to coming to KSU, soaking up the east cost bias from media types and coaches..he probably thought he'd come into the Big 12 like it was a step down from the ACC and make some kind of mark for himself. douche.
