    The very best.
Howard wasn't that highly recruited. He came to KSU and really had to bulk up in a big way, then became an absolute beast. TP was 1 star and committed to Mizzou at one point.  No idea how many offers he had, he'd have to speak on that, but based on his measurables I thought at the time his ranking was a joke. Kelly was very highly recruited. I am pretty sure Allen had a lot of offers. The Locket bros I'm not sure about but OU didn't offer either of them and I don't think OSU did either but I'm not certain on that.

how many "mizzou committs" do we steal nowadays?

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

All Rise... The Judge is in the house.
OT: What would we do w/ both Newton and Harper...

If Newton is the real deal as it sounds... and Harper is willing to continue is career as a wide out then we do it that way. Newton sounds like he is a lot more polished in the passing game than Harper. Non the less if they both get here there is nothing wrong with a little QB competition between 2 stud QB's...

If we get Newton, he is our starting qb.  No question.

Whether CH wants to "compete for the role" or move to WR will be up to him.

At least that's how Snyder's done it in the past.

Not saying that you are incorrect, but what exactly makes us all think that Newton is a more polished passer?  I know he had some pretty nice passing yards during his junior year of high school, so do tons of kids that I certainly wouldn't call "polished" passers.  Harper rarely threw the ball in high school, but I don't believe that was due to his inability as much as it was due to Coach Schartz's severe dislike for throwing the ball.

Newton has proven that he at least can pass the football.  Something that Harper hasn't done (although adittedly, doesn't mean he can't, he just hasn't yet).

Newton was a Five star qb out of highschool and a prototypical wet dream of a qb for Snydes.

DHCM,
Thanks for the answer.  It does give me some insight.  If in reality we did it 15 years ago with 2 and 3 star athletes, then we can do it again.  I just wasn't sure if we had higher rated athletes then, than we do now.  Does anyone know how our recruiting classes ranked in the mid to late 90's through 03, on a national level?

Since they have been keeping track we were pretty consistently in the top 25.

Hedgepeth would be a great addition, pretty decent size.  Newton and Harper, how could anyone not want both.  They would both get better with competition.  Either could play other positions.  It's win/win for KSU.  We also get Newton's running back friend if we get Newton.

Anybody get any e-mails about those two RE: this matter?  Kinda leads me to believe we end up with the RB and not Newton.  Maybe Newton is just using his star power to get his buddy some better looks?

The two will spend this year in the backfield together, and when Kansas State opens its season against Massachusetts in Manhattan on Sept. 5, the duo will be in attendance … together. Still, it wouldn't be wise to assume their recruitment will be a package deal, as it's actually quite the opposite.

Boyd is back.  Hope his crapty grades aren't.   :ksu:

Love the large DT's, critical to getting our defense back to respectability.

Wonder if this does anything for getting Gillepsie in here as well?  Prolly not.

Who is in Hedgepeth's top 2?

I was wondering the same thing.

ksu & tulsa

We should be able to get Hedgepeth then.

You haven't been following K-State recruiting very long have you?

You'll learn in time....................

Two are better than one!  We need all big sized DTs we can get.

It's either 3x2, or 3x3.  I'm guessing he played last season and is going to play this season so that leads me to think 3x2.  I don't know where you look up JuCo stats and don't really care, otherwise I could give a real answer.
