Coffman, a sophomore, said he is adjusting to the quarterback run game, primarily the option, which is part of Snyder’s “broad-based” offense. Coffman said he has been getting instruction in the art of the pitch from passing-game coordinator Del Miller and running-game coordinator Dana Dimel.

I kind of like Dana Dimel  . . . don't mind that he's on our staff at all.

Del Miller . . . he should just stick to breaking down film.

I picture Marc Dunn running the option. Now THAT was a work of art.

Of cours they have to coach pitching.  More so if the kid didn't run it in high school.  Let's pretend that you guys actually played football.

Yeah, the bagging on our staff is cute and all (and sometimes justified), but some of the criticism is just piling on.  Of course, I don't know how much is legit and how much is just ksufans being ksufans.

Why don't you go ahead and tell us what your second grade teacher taught you about the proper pitch...

You don't just pick up a fb and realize that spinning end over end is the best.  There is timing involved that is very important.  Plus the speed of the pitch is also a biggie.

The pitch is hard.  I remember on "Remember the Titans"  Sunshine really struggled making that pitch at first.

I really hope this is sarcasm.

I really want to see Coffman hit a wide open Lamark across the middle for a long TD.  :ksu:

even if this site is supposed to be different and hip lets give our staff and team a chance and save the trash talk for our rival Texas.

I'm not asking everyone to turn into powertards, i'd just like to see some positive energy every now and then.

Aren't lack of fundamentals (ie tackling) what plagued Ronald's teams?

it was just the way it was worded. of course if a drop back-ish QB has to all of a sudden start running the option, the nuances of reading the force, pitch relationship, timiing, etc have to be ironed out.  it's just funny.  maybe Snyds shouldn't be forcing the option on a guy like Schwinn Coffman when he isn't suited for it....if it's such an expansive, all encompassing playbook then flip to the part where the slow white guy doesn't have to get to the edge.
