The Orange Bowl hosted the BCS Championship... just like the Fiesta, Rose, and Sugar host it once every four years.  You were flailing at thin air, buddy.

But it's not called the 'Orange Bowl' which is originally what clams was making fun of when he said "Orange Bowl?  More like Orange You Supposed To Be Watching A Relevant Bowl?"  Maybe if he said "Orange Bowl or any other game sponsored by the Orange Bowl or played in the same same stadium? More like Orange you supposed to be watching a relevant bowl?" then you would be correct.

Look, moron.  You're taking it way too far.  My point was that the Orange Bowl is no worse off than any other BCS bowl.  It's still hosting the BCS National Championship once every four years, which signifies to me that the bowl is doing quite well.  Sure, the actual Orange Bowl hasn't had the powerhouse programs it once had, mainly because it takes the ACC champ and an at large.  If you wanna talk about sh*tty programs making a bowl, look no further than the Syracuse/K-State Fiesta Bowl.  Talk about two crappy programs.   ku/Va Tech was two top 10 teams squaring off in what was the best BCS game of '07.

You idiots continually try to make something out of nothing... that's alright, though.  I would probably resort to those weak tactics if my team sucked as bad as K-State does right now.  Please continue.

So ku's expected to be the best team in the division next year, but '07 was a fluke.  Hmmmm....

then its a bet.

ku wins the North next year, right?

I'll take it.  Why not?

Terms?

I'll take the bet as well.  I doubt Bookcat has the balls to put his money where his mouth is, though.  K-State fans are all talk and no walk.

K-State v. Syracuse was entertaining and you know it.

You mean the game between a 10-1 KSU team and the 9-3, Donavon McNabb-led Syracuse Orangemen (who were riding a seven game win streak)?  How many future NFL HOF candidates were featured in that Orange Bowl?  But yeah, a game featuring the winner of a sorry ACC and a team that didn't even win their own division would be a much bigger game.

Syracuse was 9-3?  Thanks for further proving my point.  Oh, and which two BCS programs just had the two worst '09 recruiting classes?  K-State and Syracuse.  Meanwhile, you're trashing on a Va Tech program that has won 10 games or more for like 7 years in a row.  Trashing a Kansas program that was built from the ground up, just like Snyder did at K-State.  ku went 12-1... with one loss coming to a top 5 Mizzou team (on a NEUTRAL field).  Furthermore, the Orange Bowl was the best BCS bowl game in '07.  The other games (Sugar, Fiesta, Rose, BCS title) were all lopsided.

Captain Meltdown just bottles up the  and then lets it all out at once.

Good thing Donovan McNabb wasn't playing for VT in 2007.

Yeah, because it's not like Virginia Tech was loaded with talent.  2008 NFL draft picks:

26. Houston Texans:  Duane Brown (OT)

35. Kansas City Chiefs:  Brandon Flowers (CB)

42. Denver Broncos:  Eddie Royal (WR)

72. Buffalo Bills:  Chris Ellis (DE)

118.  Houston Texans:  Xavier Adibi (LB)

148.  Denver Broncos:  Carlton Powell (DT)

174.  San Francisco 49ers:  Josh Morgan (WR)

215.  Baltimore Ravens:  Justin Harper (WR)

Not to mention Victor Harris, a projected 2nd round NFL draft pick in '09.  Yep.... no talent on that '07-08 Va Tech team.

They weren't very good at QB Captain Meltdown . . .  :jerkoff:

Lets see, VT ended that season with 3 losses, Syracuse ended their 1997 season with 4 losses . . . huge difference.   #3 (LOL) VT came in at #3 . . . and #1 beat them early in the season by SIX TD's . . . so yeah, they really deserved that #3 spot.

LSU 598 Yards of Total Offense . . . VT 149, LSU lead 28 nothing before VT even scored . . .  but yeah, VT certainly deserved only being 2 spots behind (with 2 losses) LSU; a team that beat them by SIX TD's going into the bowl games.

Is it possible that a team can improve over the course of the season?

Anyways, let's talk about Syracuse.  They suck.  They're football program is a disgrace.  They had the worst '09 recruiting class of any BCS school, right behind K-State.  Meanwhile, Va Tech has won 10 games or more for five straight years.  They are loaded with talent from top to bottom.

Okay . . . I don't know what Syracuse of today has to do with the Donovan McNabb lead Syracuse Orangemen of 1997 . . . but whatever.

I never said teams can't improve, but VT absolutely had no business being ranked #3 in the country going into the 2007 bowl season.

What does the current state of their program have to do how good they were when we played them?  Sure they're junk now but they were Big East champs in '96 '97 and '98.

It's about the perception of the bowl.  You claim the Orange Bowl sucks because it had ku/Va Tech in '07.  I'm just pointing out that the '97 Fiesta Bowl, which featured K-State and Syracuse, wasn't exactly a battle between two powerhouses.  In fact, since then, both programs have hit rock bottom.

So if ku heads back into mediocrity your Orange Bowl win won't be as prestigious?

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Who says ku isn't mediocre?  Nothing wrong with being mediocre.  My penis looks way bigger going into a small asian girl than it does whilst punjabbing a giant fatty.  Its all perspective.  This may be why its more fun to visit a purlple zone [(this place)/(hot young asian)] rather than [(goodfballteam.com)/(fatty)].  What's going on?

$50 bones ku doesn't win the North.

We'll paypal it. PM me.

I've won and lost. There are a few others that can vouche for me. MJrod is one of them. If I lose I pay up.

Just reviewed NU's schedule compared to ku's.

I like my chances.    8-)

Does ku really get @ TTech, OU, @ Texas?

cuz NU gets TTech, @ Baylor, and Oklahoma...and I think NU can do better vs. the North than Kansas.

What are you talking about?  You are the one being a pussy, betting AGAINST ku winning the North.  Also, I was going to give you the spread in Manhattan (ku should be favored), but if you want to bet straight up like a dumbass, I will gladly take your money.

sigh.

u said earlier in this thread the ku would win the north. I said no and that I would bet you they wouldn't. It's really that simple.

ku won't win the North. If they do...fine, put it in your signature...post it all over the intarwebs...

but I've got $50.00 that says they won't.
