I don't normally listen to this kind of music too often, but I like this song right now:

i really (really) was not meaning to start a thread asking for only supercoolonlyi'veheardofthisband suggestions.

If that's true, starting the thread by saying you only want obscure stuff and use the example of an Oklahoma band that only leaves Oklahoma because you or someone you know was probably a bad idea.

Yeah, I was kind of worried that my suggestions weren't sufficiently obscure since they are all major label artists I think (and some have been on Letterman).   :ohno:

My choices don't really seem to fit your style, but MGMT is probably still "obscure":

Electric Feel is such a great song. Reminds me of Phoenix who was just on SNL.

“Nobody plays harder than Kansas State.  Bilas said that to me in person,” Martin said. Now, does that mean that I’m happy every day?  No, because it’s our job to continue to get those guys to continue to grow.”

I'm live in the Broad Ripple area (Butler University's college town). Didn't hear about them till this past summer. Stuff is pretty good though for a change. I am more of a hip hop or country kind of guy.

Submersed.  Not going to post a link, they broke up, not because they were fighting, they all just called it quits and went on to other bands.  Music is solid.

Saw them twice ('04 and '05).  Got to hang out w/ Donald for a little while after the show in '05.  Never noticed it while he was on stage but the dude is like five feet tall.  Fun fact.

yeah. the trio was the shizz. I understand why they split...

btw. I'll be there Thursday night. I sometimes don't have the time but have friends coming to town and wanting to go do something that night. Awesome timing.

His new album is only $4.00 on Amazon Download Daily Deals.  Haven't listened to it yet, but for $4, figured why not give it a try. :dunno:
