I have a recurring dream that I am like a police officer/soldier and my gun does not fire correctly.  It's like a pellet gun that doesn't do anything.

Skeletor came in and burned down my neighborhood.  Had this dream seriously like a dozen times.  Wasn't even a big He-Man fan as a kid.

We hid in the trunk, but all our neighbors died.

I've also had dreams that my car brakes don't work, had no shirt on at inappropriate times and or naked.

I have never had the same dream twice (at least I've never remembered having the dream more than once). I often dont remember my dreams, and from the ones I do remember I'm never aware it is a dream. I've woken up disappointed/scared many times, but never from the same dream.

One time I did dream I was having a loud argument with my mom. She kept telling me to do something that I had already done, and I shouted, at the top of my lungs, "I ALREADY DID IT!!". Both in my dream and in real life. I woke up and my mom ran into the room to see if I was ok.

I dream I'm still awake in bed and I hear voices inside the walls talking about me. Gave me serious insomnia for years. Still happens a few times a month. I wake up when I hear my name sorta hissed from somewhere across the room.
Sounds like Nagini, man.

No recurring dreams for me but I do have a really weird bad dream pattern... everytime I eat ice cream before I go to bed I have bad dreams. I have no idea why but it's given me an irrational "meh" feeling about ice cream for as long as I've known. I don't understand it either, because in reality I should love ice cream. Only counts with ice cream. Popsicles, ice cream sandwiches, shakes, none of that stuff effects me. Just ice cream.

Edit: I actually do occasionally have this recurring dream where something will hit me in the mouth and all of my teeth will fall out. It never really hurts but it's really scary because I don't have any teeth anymore.

I've had the "lost my teeth" dream a few times. Seriously sucks.

I've also gotten pretty good at realizing when I'm dreaming. Most of the time, it's pretty awesome, because you can just do whatever you want. Had an excellent flying car/spiderman dream just last night.

But sometimes when you realize you're dreaming, you can't control stuff, and then you try to wake up, which is practically impossible even though you can half feel yourself trying to move your arms and stuff in real life, but you're all "sleep paralyzed" or whatever they call it. Really freaky, because you feel trapped.

I've definitely had the losing of the teeth before. Really odd. Whenever I realize I'm dreaming, though, I usually wake up. Which kinda sucks.

Sounds amazing.  I've never realized I'm dreaming while dreaming.  I've thought about it a few times while dreaming, but always came to the dream conclusion that it was real life.

I have this every once in awhile, and it is indeed awesome. Once you realize it, you're like, "Sweet, let's see where we can take this!"

I can also tell by my dreams (for some reason always involving an old station wagon) when I'm getting sick while I sleep, like a virus hitting me or something. Which is double-weird because I will recognize it and then be like "Oh no, as soon as this dream is over, I'm gonna wake up with the flu or something".
"Unless you're a ku fan you don't want to watch a game at the fieldhouse. You'll never see more home cooking in your life. The last game I watched there Larry got the boot and I didn't blame him a bit. Only ball game I've ever walked out on in my life, besides, the facility is a piece of ****."

Dude, it's great when it happens. For me, it's usually when I notice something weird in my dream world (like the house is laid out all wrong or something). Then you realize it's a dream, and it's like Neo in the Matrix. You can just lift off.

I love waking up after these sort of dreamworld-manipulation flying dreams.

I often have dreams my entire family is killed in fiery accidents, but different every time.

Car explosion, roller coaster train flying off the tracks, etc.

Also, another dream that pops up a lot is about this octopus that keeps chasing me driving a bumper car and I am running around the amusement park trying to escape

Lucid dreaming is a great thing, last time I realized I was dreaming though I woke up not long after, so that sucked

I've had another terrifying dream about 3 times over the past few months.  In the dream I've been practicing golf all summer long, and I've gotten really good.  Then these 3 guys I don't know want me to play in a tournament with them because they heard about how awesome I am.  So I agree to play and there is a ton of pressure and stuff.  We start playing and I can't hit the ball.  Like, I swing again and again and again and cannot hit it.  The guys who asked me to play are all rolling their eyes, and acting really pissed.  One of them looks at me and says "are you f-ing serious"?  Always feel terrible when I wake up.  I mean, I didn't mean to let them down.

Yup, I usually can tell that I'm dreaming in about 85% of my dreams, scary dreams I'll just wake myself up, but it takes like 10 seconds of trying to lift your arms to actually be able to do it.

anyone ever dream something random that actually takes place later on?  has happened to me several times and freaks me the frack out.

another thing that sucks is when you remember something and you can't tell if that actually happened or if it was a dream.

You just think you dreamt it when it happens.  Common.

Nah man.  I've totally proved it to my friends and family before too by telling them exactly what will happen next, then it does.  It's like, I get hit with deja vu, and then realize I've seen it all before in a dream, and can completely describe everything that will happen next.

It's never anything useful though.  Just completely random events..like a red car will drive by and get a flat tire, and then a blue truck will stop and help.  Or that I'll go to Texas for a KSU game, and run into someone I haven't seen since elementary school even though they don't even live in Texas.  A lot of random crap like that.

Very  :ohno:

I know I'm not the only one this happens to though, surely someone else on ksufans has experienced the same thing.

It's just random stuff that is very common.  You've never known anything important is going to happen.  Very common because it's called "I've though about this common thing happening that could happen and every once in a while it happens and I'm all WHOOO".  Very common.

Not necessarily common brau.  Try weird.  You've never dreamed something out of the ordinary and then it happened, EXACTLY as it happened in your dream?  Sequence of events, people, places, etc?

1.  grinding my teeth (wonder if I actually do this in sleep?  Seems like no because dentist creams over how fantastic my teeth are despite not regularly going to dentist)

2.  signing up for a class, but not going all semester and then failing at the end

3.  a non-stop series of people from the past and present just looking at me and expressing their disappointment/displeasure.  Like POV pr0n, but not at all good.

Looks like "teeth falling out" has to be crossed of the list of "not normal recurring dreams". Pretty much everyone has them:

http://psychology.suite101.com/article.cfm/teeth_falling_out_in_dreams

Quote
Tooth loss dreams are profoundly disturbing and extraordinarily common...

Tooth loss dreams are symbolic of the deepest fears human beings have. Here is a guide to understanding the meaning of these dreams.

1) Fear of Death and Growing Old
2) Symbol of Powerlessness
3) Tooth Loss Dreams as Fear of Change
4) Fear of Failure or Embarrassment
5) Butt Sex
6) Poor Health and Financial Instability
7) Abandonment
8) Loose Lips Sink Ships
“My arm gets tired from doing this,” said coach Bill Snyder, waving his arm.
