From our good buddy "maddog357"

Quote
according to matt boss' uncle
Posted: 10/6/06 5:24:06 am       reply to this message matt boss, the most recent departure from the KSU football team

prince kicked his whole starting offensive line out of practice on Monday, and told them not to come back until Thursday.

Thomas Clayton and some of the seniors questioned why Prince kicked those guys out of practice because all they did was jump before the ball was snapped during drills. Clayton was then demoted to third team for challenging Prince. Gerald Spexarth then questioned Prince for demoting Clayton, and Spexarth was told not to return until next Monday.

While this whole fruckus was occuring, Boss was in the training room receiving treatment for a seperated shoulder. Unaware of the suspensions, Boss returned to the practice field with his arm in a sling.

Prince immediately grabbed Boss, apparently ripped off his sling and proceeded to call him a "f....n p....y" over and over. Prince allegedly stopped practice and then put Boss in the middle of the whole team and said something to the effect of...."This is why Baylor kicked our @#%$, because we have f....n p....ies like this guy on our team."

Prince made these remarks while pointing to Boss. Boss then went back in the lockeroom, put on his pads, and practiced in intense pain. The trainers told Coach Prince that Boss was unable to practice, and Prince allegedly berated the trainers.

Prince picked on Boss the rest of the practice and more players tried to defend him. Those teammates who came to Boss's aid were kicked out of practice. Prince then proceeded to talk about how his players will play through pain and not be "f....g p.....s" like Boss.

Monday night, Boss called his parents in tears. He told them what had happened and they told him to stick it out and suck it up, but they knew something was wrong with him. All he ever wanted to do was play football for K-State. He was a 4-Star recruit and a freshman starter last season.
Tuesday, Matt again called in tears, he couldn't move his arm but he didn't want to be humiliated by Prince again.

His parents finally decided to come see him. When they saw Matt, they noticed the obvious 2 inch bump where his collarbone was clearly unattached from his clavicle. They demanded a meeting with Prince, but he reportedly was to busy breaking down film. His parents were sick of being made to wait so they told the receptionist Matt was quitting the football team and they were taking him home.

Bill Snyder's son, who is Director of Football Operations or something like that for K-State signed Boss's release and they were never allowed to meet with Prince. When Boss asked to retrieve his stuff from the locker room he was told, "Only K-State football players and staff are allowed in the locker room. We'll send you your stuff.

Boss is so upset right now, he's considering quitting football altogether. His family is trying to convince him otherwise.

That's just too good to be true.  The good news about a number of players potentially quitting is that we could have more scholarships available and be able to hope that our recruting class will eventually get better.

according to a K-State athletic-department official, the players were not suspended. “Certain players were held out of workouts..."

It's all good.  They weren't suspended.

This is really going to be "fun" to watch.  Although if that's true, Prince is kind of prick...if soemone's that hurt, they just can't go...just because your offensive scheme sucks doesn't mean you have to take it out on an injured kid...and why not talk to the parents?

This is my favorite part of the report.

Well, that and the part about how we lost to Baylor because we have a bunch of "&@#%ing pusssies" on the team.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Take it FWIW.....

My "source" (who also happens to be the same as 'Hox's, so you kitties can feel free to discredit this) sent an e-mail late last night stating that he heard Boss had either been told to practice while injured, or "challenged" to practice while injured.

The only other info he had was that Boss was in serious pain the next day and that was why he quit the team.

Cheers,
NJ Hawk

This is all because of the Wildcat Walk.  Boss hurt his shoulder walking through the parking lot before the Louisville game.
Sucks.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

I hope that Prince runs off every player that he thinks sucks.  If he's wrong, he's wrong, but I give him credit for making changes to a sucky team.

New here, first post...

All this makes me wonder what Snyder thinks about this.  It's gotta be tough for a guy who invested so much personally into something to see this.  Snyder himself has said he deply cares for KSU.  Regardless of the performance of the football team, he can't like to see the program and university dragged through the mud.

One other thing - If Prince manages to pull out a win this weekend, does that reinforce his behavior?  Will all of this crap go away?

You can only sign 25 kids per year.  We were already going to bring in the max next year anyway so him leaving really doesn't allow us to recruit anymore kids.  We've had 10 guys leave the program since Prince took over everyone one of them was an offensive player.  Of the 85 limit normally about 40 of them are offensive players.  So we've had about 25% of the scholarship players on offfense leave the program.  You can say what you want and you can say this stuff is normal for a new staff but I think this goes a little beyond normal.  10 is a lot of players and when everyone of them is on one side of the ball it certainly makes you wonder about the coaching on that side of the ball.

By many accounts, Snyder was also a dickhead much of the time.

The fact that no players have left on defense is pretty remarkable.

Yes.  Winning makes everything better.  On the other hand, losing will make everything worse.  I tend to think this team won't win another game, so Prince's tirades should get even better and better as the year goes on.  I'm banking on a public meltdown.

If he really made an injured player practice, (I doubt it's true), wouldn't that be a fireable offense?  Like midseason?

Kind of?
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

At the first game, when they named the stadium, it was a tribute not just to him, but to all the players that made it happen.

Maybe 10-20 showed up from 17 years.

The rumor didn't say that Prince made him practice.  It only said that he called him a p#### and that prompted Boss to go put his pads on and practice.  That type of stuff happens more then what people realize.  I'm not saying it's right but some coaches are just weird about injuries and can't stand it when kids miss practice.   If you're getting called out by a coach and you're really not hurt that bad then it probably does motivate you to get back to practice rather then take the abuse.  But if you're really hurt and you know you're hurt I would think you'd just keep sitting out and take the abuse.

what pizzed off Prince was that the training staff cleared Boss for contact, but he showed up without pads.
