I concur, dude looks like a stalker out of a movie or something, not a GD mayor of a major city.

As official ksufans.com representative of Omaha I propose a straight up trade of the Omaha Royals for the KC Royals (will then switch names so the Omaha Royals will be the old KC Royals and vice versa)....Council Bluffs may take the chiefs (Omaha not interested)

sure hope kkietz is getting to the bottom of this.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

KC can barely support two teams, what makes anyone think they could support the NBA? The idea of hockey moving there is even more ridiculous. I remember when everyone got huge boners over the idea of the Pens moving to KC. There's not a hockey fan within 500 miles of KC and they want a team there? As for the NBA, I don't think there's enough moola in KC to fill the Sprint and keep it competitive.

Have you taken a poll of this? I know a lot of Hockey fans (I am not one) in this area. I know a lot of NBA fans in this area as well (myself included) People will go and support these teams if they are brought in.

No I've not taken a poll. Think I waste my time wondering what people in KC are up to? As far as hockey... There are honestly too many teams in the league and the bad ones (or ones that should never exist, like KC) are in non-hockey areas and can't find support. It takes a pretty good sized city and/or a strong hockey following to support an NHL team.

With the NBA... Just watch OKC. They'll be a good example of a team that will get support at first because they're the only gig in town, but if they continue to lose for the next couple years, they'll be looking for a new home. The NBA is a tough biz and you really have to have a larger market to support it and have them do well. The Sacramento metro is about the same size as KC but has just the one team, and obviously the Maloofs must be interested in getting out of town.

For you info, the Sacremento Kings were the Kansas City King (KC/Omaha Kings) at one time.   The city would not support them and they moved on.   What makes anyone think that the city would now support a new NBA team.   Won't work.

Also, there once was an NHL hockey team in town.   I admit, I believe it was an expansion team and never was successful.   The city will not support a NHL team either.

No one supports crappy organizations and crappy ownership... The Kings organization has been a pretty bad organization for a long time because of pretty bad ownership... I think it will depend on the quality of organization that they would bring in here on if they will get support... I have heard rumors saying that even the the New Orleans Hornets are pretty good right now they are still looking to move that organization... If they came to KC I guarantee people would want to watch them...

It was the Kansas City Scouts:

The Kansas City Scouts was a professional ice hockey team in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1974–76. In 1976 the franchise relocated to Denver, Colorado and became the Colorado Rockies. In 1982, the Rockies relocated to New Jersey where they are now known as the New Jersey Devils.

I love the smell of peat in the evening.  That smell, you know that earthy smell...  Smells like...whisky !

Sounds like that franchise has been somewhat successful then.
