The NBA is his dream, and he plans to listen to feedback this season, possibly entering his name in the draft to gauge what areas the pros believe he needs to address. Alvarez, who likens Clemente to San Antonio's Tony Parker, said Clemente will definitely....

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I'm all for it.  We'd miss him, but holy crap would we look like an NBA goldmine!  He probably needs to come back though.

You let Denis do all the testing he wants.

Someone tell me what is bad about having players look into or get drafted by the NBA?  The more this becomes a trend, the better.

Personally, I'd rather not lose our best player, particularly without an obvious replacement.

Call me crazy, I guess!

the trend being having players that are capable of leaving early for the nba.  if you can't see that's a good trend then stfu

I don't think you ever have to worry about the guy who got punked by morningstar to ever make an NBA roster

He'd be crazy to leave after this year.  Let him play next year with more talent around him and he'll look/be even better.
I'd much rather have a 69 year old coach than one that weighs 400+ pounds.

Good, why wouldn't he "test the waters."  Anyone who whines about this stuff is just a selfish fanboy prick.  I hope all of our players make it to the NBA or have some other type of success.  If he goes, well it smarts but we'll have guys to fill in his shoes.

I thought Walker would have benifitted more from staying another year, but it is his decision.  Why not just be happy for them.  Though i do think walker would have had a 20 and 10 season this year and a first round pick in the draft.

Then consider me a selfish fanboy prick, because I definitely want Denis back next year.  But on the bright side, if he did bolt to the pros, it would up my total of facebook friends who are NBA players two two.

lol you probably said the same thing about Bill Walker didn't you.
let denis do whats good for denis.

Sure did.  This team would be two Big 12 games better with Walker.  And I bet we would have won at least one of the non games against the BCS teams too.

Post again...  what do you all think are the odds of Denis getting drafted after the '09/'10 season?  Asking because I don't remember hearing anything about his pro potential prior to now.  Has he always been looked at as a possible NBA player, or is this the product of Frank/'walt/etc.?

I think Denis came into this season as somewhat of an unknown.  Pretty much the way scouts look at players that are dismissed from teams for undiscloesed reasons imo.

Denis has shown to possibly have pro potential, but he needs to find the right speed to play at.  He is much quicker than everyone KSU surrounds him with.  It also doesn't help to have the bigs that we have as they are not the best at posting up and finishing thus making a lack of assists for Denis.  Next year should be better with Judge, (but we need to remember he will only be a freshman) and Kelly (Hopefully he will show the same development that Denis has shown after his transfer).

I think it is great if he tests the waters so he can find out what he needs to work on for the next year.  He definitely isn't ready for the league next year, but neither was Walker.  I sure can't blame a kid for following his dream though.

This is true.  I put the needs of the team and school before the needs of one dude.
